Spectacular! The designs are different than others I’ve seen, not that I’ve seen many. Lighter, softer, more delicate, subdued colors. My guess is the styles run in cycles and it’s been a while since I’ve been to a flower show of any kind. Nice castle, too!

Kindergarten is pretty early for TAG programs. And I say this as a parent who had a kid in NYC TAG kindergarten, 30 years ago. It was great, but not all kids have access enrichment programs before kindergarten, and testing before kindergarten just reinforces the strong bias towards money.

Both parties have included in their funding bills additional money for the security of Congress, judges and executive branch officials in response to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Republicans have proposed $88m in spending, while Democrats have offered $326m. IMO, they shouldn't get a dime in additional security money until they get serious about reasonable gun laws.

@Bernard, congratulations on getting the new car! One little (really quite minor) disappointment is I can't hook up my iPod (I'm so old fashioned) with the usb cable like I could in my older car. It looks like bluetooth is the only option for connecting auxiliary devices. Yeah I noticed that with newer cars these days. USB is now "charging-only" in newer cars. Data functions have to go over Bluetooth.

ICE detained 2 in this county yesterday. Not surprised. The ski industry would collapse without immigrants. Restaurants patrons objected. Neighbors objected. "They are hard working people and cause no problems." Of the many immigrants in the county, I know one who walked from Guatemala. She became a maid at Keystone resort, and has worked up way up from that to a management position, married, had kids and is well respected. I don't know her official status as an immigrant.

@kluurs That's very interesting. I did play the Polonaise today and got through the whole piece (without repeats due to class time limitations). Before I started, I wasn't sure I would actually make it to the end. So it was productive. Got some good advice.

Such an icon that it seems impossible that he was mortal after all. No I got the title right and the actress wrong.
