Latest fantasy.
I know, it needs some cosmetics, but everything else about it... and it's been in the same family for over 100 years.

@Quirt-Evans I believe that's the same one my grandma took me to! Just reading what you wrote I could see that slice of pie in my mind, clear as day.
There's unexploded ordinance all over the BLM lands where I regularly ride my horse. The feds have gone in to do a lot of mitigation, though it is unclear exactly what they were doing, and how much safer they made the area, if at all. We're right near a military base, Fort Harrison, and we hear them practicing war games on occasion. Not pleasant. But I imagine that it wasn't that long ago that nobody lived out where we are now.
The civility was refreshing and unexpected. Walz let Vance get away with too much, and he seemed incoherent at times. Vance scared me because he's polished, poised, a good debater, and comes off as credible, even though he lies like a rug. Walz was a lot more likeable, but I found myself wishing Harris had chosen Buttigieg instead. He would have mopped the floor with Vance.
@CHAS after he threw up all over a grand piano I was done with Loudermilk.
I've had it with all the gratuitous vomiting on tv and in the movies anyway, but all over a grand piano was going too far. Won't turn it on again.
I'm up to season 4 of "Better Call Saul". It just keeps getting better. Initially I thought it was stupid and passed it over a few years ago. Then something made me check it out again. The depth and complexity of the characters has me hooked.
We also have been watching "Bad Monkey" which is pretty hilarious. I think it's on AppleTV.
@wtg said in What are you watching?:
The Automat. A documentary about the Hart and Hardart restaurants. I never ate at one, but still found the history to be fascinating. If you're from NY or Philly and ever went to an Automat you might enjoy it! Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Elliot Gould, Colin Powell, and RBG are among the interviewees.

I watched it on TCM, but I think it's available on Max.
It was Horn and Hardart. I went there in NYC with my grandmother as a kid. Did they change the name of it for the show? Will check it out. Usually went there after the show at Radio City Music Hall. This was my grandmother's idea of a perfect NYC grandchild outing. My grandfather's was taking the subway from Queens to Coney Island, riding the carousel, getting cotton candy, then walking to his reclusive sister's place with a quart of milk and a loaf of white bread to check on her.
We just sold our 2006 Honda CRV with 200k miles on it. The reason we sold it is because I found the seats to be absolutely crippling. That became my #1 criteria in car shopping--the comfort and support of the seats. Which meant we needed to get one of the top trim levels, that have many different seat adjustments. I have found that both Toyota and Chevy have the best seats for support, adjustability, and comfort. We got a used 2018 Toyota 4Runner off the lot of our local Subaru dealer. We had our mechanic do a pre-buy inspection and he raved about this particular model--extremely reliable. We love it, and every time I get in and sit down my back sighs with happiness.
As for dealing with car salesmen and dealers. I was going to buy online and have delivered or fly to the dealership that had what I wanted.. But it turns out we are very lucky, and the closest car dealership to us--the Subaru dealer--gives the best prices of anywhere, and doesn't play any of those stupid high pressure games. Everything was quite low pressure and fair, and they have a terrific service shop. Apparently people fly in from all over to buy from them, and it doesn't hurt that there is no sales tax in Montana.
We also bought a brand new Forester from them a month later, and paid cash, as we also did for the 4Runner. The Forester's seats are much more comfy than the CRV's, but not quite as comfortable as the 4Runner's or my Chevy truck's. But it gets great gas mileage and will make an excellent road trip car.
The CRV has good years and bad years for reliability. I would scrutinize the Consumer Reports car buying guides carefully before making a decision. I have found them to always be spot on, for as long as I've been buying cars (bought my first one in 1977). If you want an SUV and you can find a good used one, you can't go wrong with the 4Runner.
As to the listing, while that shade of yellow on the walls is awful, as is the carpeting, the bathroom tiles are wonderful, and the layout is great. That particular neighborhood is as dull as dishwater so I'm guessing the owners needed some color in their lives.
Note that the virtually staged images all in grays and whites are just as ugly. Warm colors, please, especially in a climate with cold winters.
