@CHAS said in Piano updates: You are my hero. Aww thank you! What a kind thing to say! My mind leaves the room whenever I touch a musical instrument in the company of other people. Yeah me too though!

@wtg said in Beekeepers. And appliance store.: @Big_Al Gift link! don't know if it will ask for you to sign up, or if you can just read... I was able to read the gift link. Thanks! That looks like a business I'd like to patronize if it was in my area. That styrofoam recycling operation is ingenious. Big Al

Interesting… also, what does that say about humans, that we’re more likely to be swayed by an unreliable technology prone to hallucinations than by our fellow humans….

@Steve-Miller said in Conveyor belt road: Reminds me of Robert Heinlein’s story “The Roads Must Roll.” Exactly what I thought of when I saw this story. I suspect you and I had a similar taste in literature when we were young. Big Al

I remember my brother giving me a book when I was in 2nd grade - Toby Tyler. I was disappointed when i saw the book as I was hoping for a toy - but then I read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Books became friends. I remember reading a study where reading to children is one of the most important things a parent can do for a child. It's good that your teacher got you hooked.

I was diagnosed with Fuchs dystrophy in both eyes when I sought treatment for cataracts and received corneal transplants which successfully treated my condition. I'm always interested in new research regarding the eyes, both for myself and for some loved ones. Big Al

@Steve-Miller said in How to dismantle the press, Putin master class: @wtg It would not be difficult to find 5 liars at Mar a Lago and they think it makes Trump look good. That's my take.

A better historian than yours truly could compare Trump's support to the support Hitler had.

@DeweyLOU Thank you for sharing this! It’s tempting to say something like “my work isn’t as important as yours” as a way to excuse myself from taking the risk. But: @DeweyLOU said in What do I do with this?: Capitulation is what they're counting on. If we aren't all willing to take a stand, even in the face of potential risk, they'll have already won. This is a powerful message, one I don’t take lightly.

Our Whirlpool washer and dryer have been serving us well since 1995. Built to last. I think newer machines are planned obsolescence.

So if anyone wants to create/update their signature line: Click on your avatar in the upper right hand corner. Select "Edit profile" from the dropdown. Update your signature (and any other info you might want to add, like your website). Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the Profile page and "Save changes". You can also change your Picture if you don't want the default icon of the first letter of your user name. Click on your avatar. Select "Change Picture" Upload your picture, either from your device directly or from a URL. I decided to keep my WTF avatar of my pup Maggie, so I just logged into the original WTF and did a "copy image link" of my pic over there. Save Changes. I've added a link to this thread in the Tips , Tricks and How-Tos thread.
