Somehow the idea of high school students doing gene editing makes me nervous. I remember some high school experiments that were not well-controlled and had potentially injurious results. Fortunately, no one was significantly harmed.
Given the possible results of gene editing in relation to infectious disease, I wonder if it is prudent to put this technology within the reach of high-schoolers.

I wonder how much of a decline can be attributed to the increasing availability of Narcan and its relatives to counteract overdoses—also, the availability in some locations of fentanyl tests.

I wonder how you pack enough explosives into enough pagers to kill some individuals and injure more than a thousand?

@Steve-Miller said in Chinese Bluegrass:
This is definitely not a bluegrass crowd, but this is unusual enough to share. Its like nothing I’ve ever heard.
I think Hank Williams would be amazed and more than a little proud that his music has transcended some ethnic and cultural boundaries.
I like bluegrass, along with many other musical genres. If that excludes me from the crowd, so be it.

One more visitor to Springfield and Appalachia with a particularly apt analysis of J. D. Vance.

There must be an interesting backstory about how the various images originally came to be assembled on the fabric.

What the article described seems to me to be prima facie evidence of monopolistic behavior. the fact that a business is providing a useful service is not a defense against charges of restricting competition. The AT&T break-up is a ready example of this.

That was an interesting read about something of trivial value. The author went to great lengths to explore the subject.
I know where some of the missing pennies reside. I have a friend who has a five-gallon water jug in his bedroom that he has dropped pennies into until it was completely filled. It's too heavy to be moved without a dolly. I don't know what he intends to do with it if and when he leaves his house permanently. I suspect it will become someone else's problem, just like pennies in general.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Is that fan cord and plug connected to a surface mounted receptacle on the ceiling? In looking at other pictures, I don't see evidence of generally suspect workmanship. I might ask why it was installed that way, but it by itself wouldn't frighten me too much.
