@kluurs I like the fact that they show a broom on the picture. My guess is that they use it to sweep up the pieces falling off if it!

Beautiful home, and a lot of house for the money. (Though I know nothing about the housing market in Henderson. You would pay 2-3x that for a similar house in MT). Can you swim in the pool in the winter? Does it stay that warm there?

At least it's not an ad-loaded app that claims to show you the Ten Commandments on your tablet.

@Steve-Miller said in Gardening experiments: Irish moss Ha! This stuff is growing like crazy between the bricks on our patio. I should try moving some out into the beds. Like you, I'm looking for a non-mulch alternative. The Irish moss blooms, too. You just need a magnifying glass to see the flowers. That was an interesting read for me because I grew up on a dairy farm. My father did milk testing for awhile. There was a glass carboy full of sulphuric acid housed in a wooden crate in the basement of our home that was used for the process. I was strictly enjoined from messing with it, but boys will be boys. It was way too heavy to lift or spill but one day I took the stopper out. There must have been traces of acid on the stopper that I got on my hands and wiped on my pants. The holes that showed up when the pants were washed gave me away. We were using artificial insemination to breed many of our cows by the 1950s. I remember looking at the lists of bulls and their attributes in terms of the calves they sired. Some of the best were featured on the pages of a calender published every year by COBA (Central Ohio Breeding Association), the group that managed the service. My sister still has the butter churn and the milk/cream separator that we used back then. Ah, the good old days. Big Al

Yup. I do. It's pretty much the only brand that Costco sells. Don't think I'll ditch it right now, but when I do go to replace it, do you have any recommendations, @Axtremus ? I'm in the low use category, internet speeds of less than 400 Mbps, streaming maybe one or two devices at a time, no gaming or other heavy use...and even though the router is in the basement I get an excellent signal on both the first and second floors of our house. I think I had Netgear before and have generally been much happier with the TP-Link.

@AdagioM No, it isn't. And the price per pound is clearly a mistake too. Somebody in the fish department was having an off day...

Emerson College poll. The second question, about possible Jan 6 pardons by Trump, is interesting.... Voters were asked if they supported or opposed President Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter. A majority (52%) oppose, 28% support the decision, and 19% are unsure. Voters were also asked if they would support President-elect Trump’s issuing of pardons to people involved in the events of January 6; 50% oppose, 34% support, and 16% are neutral. https://emersoncollegepolling.com/december-2024-national-poll-young-voters-diverge-from-majority-on-crypto-tiktok-and-ceo-assassination/

Had a Welsh terrier that would toss them up in the air and swallow them when they came down, but she was much larger than a vole at 20 lbs.

We only have one black spatula. I’m sure it’s worth no more than 99 cents. I will not mind chucking it and buying a non-black one for 99 cents.
