@wtg said in The decline and fall of Elon Musk: The Tesla innovator becomes the latest government employee to lose his job. Gee, how awful. Not.

I can't imagine why an imaginary currency needs so much energy.

I scrolled through the pictures and couldn't make head or tail of what I was looking at. Without a floor plan or an aerial view, I have no idea how the various areas connect. I saw what looked like two different kitchens. I'm not sure what local prices are, but it looks like a lot of square footage and acreage for the asking price. Big Al

They had Janet's favorite chardonnay for half the price here in Ohio. It was worth the trip just for that. Saved $500.

@Steve-Miller said in Memorial Day: He’s getting worse. Hard to believe, isn't it? No impulse control. No sense of propriety. Beyond that...why he thinks negotiating strategies that worked in real estate deals and that made him popular on The Apprentice are the way to go when it comes to domestic and foreign policy is totally baffling. What's with the tariffs on/off/on/off? Canada as 51st state? H seems to be accomplishing little besides pissing off our allies and wreaking economic havoc. The immigration havoc. The attacks on his perceived enemies, of which there seems to be an endless number. And the never-ending grift. Memecoins, gifts of planes from foreign countries he once denigrated, expedited project approvals for TrumpCo in various countries.. The Biden Crime Family was nothing compared to this guy. But of course it's ok, because Speaker Johnson says Trump is doing everything out in the open. Worst part is that this time around there are no guard rails in place, no one with any sense to rein him in. He thinks he knows everything, he's never wrong (it's someone else's fault), and he thinks he's omnipotent. It's a terrifying combination.

I've had some experience with maintaining estates, obviously not my own. It's a full time job.

ChatGPT Plus for all ... in the UAE: https://www.thearabianstories.com/2025/05/25/free-ai-for-all-uae-becomes-first-to-offer-chatgpt-plus-to-every-resident-and-citizen/ "ChatGPT Plus" is something that costs $20/month if we want it. The UAE has struck a deal with OpenAI to make ChatGPT Plus available to all the citizens and residents of the UAE at no cost to them.

@Bernard It was fortunate in one way. The storm occurred near the end of May so the weather otherwise was fairly mild. It's hard to access the panes on a glass building that large. It took them most of the summer before they completed the repairs and all the portions of the buildings could be reopened to the public. Big Al

@Piano-Dad Yes, I know how to reach you. We do have some folks who signed up and who have either never posted or haven't posted in a long time. I don't want to pester them with updates unless they want to be pestered. You can choose the option to hide your email address from casual observers, but people with superpowers can see that info. Mostly I just wanted to know who wants to be notified if we have a major outage. Additionally, a few folks who signed up early might not have had to provide an email address to create a user ID because registration was open and didn't require authorization by an admin or mod. Eventually we locked the door and deleted all the spammers who had signed up while this was the backup site. I just wanted people to check their profile and see if they have an email addy where they can be reached.
