Could be better, could be worse. He has feeling but almost no movement on right side. Cognitively seems fine but a lot of trouble speaking. Still a lot of unanswered medical questions. He is remarkably sanguine about what has happened. Said he’s learned so much.

    It’s heartbreaking

Mr wtg continues to make slow but steady progress in acute rehab. He is supposed to be discharged to home tomorrow and will go to day rehab three times a week starting next week. He is just able to pick up his right leg, mostly from the hip, but that is huge progress. I am more comfortable helping him transfer from chair/bed to wheelchair and back again.

Right arm still not moving much but seems to have a little bit of muscle tone it didn't have before. Lots of small steps.

I have hopefully gotten the house set up so that we can get into a daily routine and continue to work on getting him stronger.

Thanks again to everyone for your good wishes. Please keep that positive energy headed our way!!

Here's hoping for a complete recovery.

Do remember to take care of yourself as well - caring for the caregiver. Hope you have a good support system.

Just missed this dreadful news, wtg, and am so very sorry to hear of it. Sending deepest concern and care for healing. I'm glad at least it seems that change is in the positive direction.

Wishes for strength and faith for wtg as you weather this major storm of life.

Sending you the powerful MiShebeirach Jewish prayer for healing (it's not just for Jews).

Debbie Friedman, who is singing and accompanying the famous prayer, also wrote it, performs it here while suffering from cancer.

It had already become a classic of Jewish liturgy in all branches of Judaism even though traditionally women are forbidden to sing before men.

@wtg Thank you for the update. Going home is a big step, and although it comes with its own challenges, I'm sure it will be a relief for him.

You are both in my thoughts!
