Iโve been out to shovel twice so far. My surrounding neighbours have all done the same. Way better than dealing with it all at once! Especially since then the bottom layer gets more compacted and harder to shovel. We have only gotten about 6โ so far.

10 inches of snow, with some variability across the city. We did some shoveling today but itโs taxing physically, and we have a lot of sidewalk, being a corner property. Itโs now sleeting, which makes the snow even heavier. Weโll have a local guy finish up tomorrow.
Single malt helps.

The Apple weather app said we had a total of 22โ of snow but I feel like that canโt be right, based on depth before we started shoveling yesterday morning, and then the depth before Mr SK did the second round of shoveling yesterday evening. I think it was probably more like 16โ total.
Whatever, it was a lot of snow for this area. Now the temps are supposed to drop to -18C/-0.4F by midday, and then stay low through tomorrow. Then we have several days where the overnight low will be between -1F to -5F.
I will be glad when the cold snap ends, this extreme cold makes me nervous.

Just before we moved here a friend gave me this goofy hat, saying it seemed like something Iโd need. He thought it was hysterically funny.
Itโs been in a drawer for four years - no way I was going to wear such a thing. But today I busted it out and - dayum! It really works! Way better than a stocking cap!
