I went out and watered and spritzed all our herbs, flowers, ferns and anthuriums. As soon as I got back inside it clouded up and it's going to rain. FML.

I'm reminding myself I don't have a violent bone in my body and at the same time ironically having fantasies about beating the sociopath to a pulp.

I am listening to Géraldine at Comme une Française and deciding if I'm going to practice piano next or make a run to the transfer station. I think I'll postpone the transfer station till tomorrow and will practice a bit later. I cleaned out my recipe book shelves the other day and pared four shelves down to two. I took two boxes of books to a community closet in a nearby town this morning along with 10 boxes of other stuff I've been clearing out. Two more boxes of books will go to a thrift shop in a different town next week. I'm also wondering. . . why neither of two contractors I contacted last week for quotes has gotten back to me yet!

Rode my bike in the park for 45 minutes. Need to get some piano practice in too. Then make dinner, a veg curry.

Yesterday I planted 4 new herb plants: 2 basil, 1 chervil, 1 winter savory. Will probably need watering tomorrow.

The weather has been ghastly hot and humid. Today is a pleasant break from all that.

I'm about ready to go out to the screen room with my cup of tea, a book, and a bluetooth speaker to pipe some soft jazz in there.

@ShiroKuro The transfer station is where we bring our trash. There are separate dumpsters for glass/plastic/paper, construction debris, regular garbage. (But our town has not recycled for the past several years due to cost. :sigh: All the trash ends up in the same place eventually. But they encourage us to "recycle" anyway.) Tin cans go in special bins inside the building, and electronics go in yet a different storage container. Several items cost money to dispose of:

I was away during the week (San Diego, where the weather is always perfect) for a teaching gig, so today was catch up. I watered the lawn and garden while it was still relatively cool out. Sat at the backyard table and finished some knitting. Ordered groceries for pickup tomorrow (Mr. AM will pick up.) Came back inside!

Ran through some stuff on guitar; I’m singing with a small group tomorrow for a friend in Memory Care. Finished corrective edits to an upcoming pattern. Now it’s time for gin and tonic. Guess I should make dinner!

Back in January I went to a Medfit program at the health club at our local hospital. I rediscovered that treadmills and my knees do not have a good relationship. My right knee got sore and swollen but over the course of a few weeks it went back to normal. Until a few days ago. This time no real pain, just a lot of fluid on the same knee that acted up earlier this year. Trying to take it easy for a few days, elevating, and icing it.

                          70 has its disadvantages.

MrsTuner had a shoulder replacement surgery last year and then experienced a couple of dislocations this year. Had another surgery a few days ago to tighten up the joint so I've been home managing ice rotations and trying to be helpful...

It does indeed. Knees are tough. I've had a couple shots in my left knee that were very effective. Now I have no pain, but if I move certain ways I can feel cartilage or meniscus or something kind of shifting around like there are multiple pieces. Now that I'm pretty much over the foot surgery I think I'll go see my ortho and see if there's anything proactive I can do.

                                70 is high maintenance.

I love gin and tonic! It's the only alcohol I drink except for occasional vodka shots and champagne.

I got the roof tarping done two days ago. Yesterday they came and attached metal hardware around a few corner areas they missed. I paid to have a huge debris/ garbage piled hauled away per polite but firm personal visit from the manager, and every day is one day closer to the day I'm off the waiting list and my new roof is out on.

It's no longer raining in the house and a hurricane (and there will be one) is no longer necessarily any kind of unthinkable disaster.

I'm done. I did this to save my life.

I told the other resident not only do I not want to live with him, I don't want to know him.

He woke up before me and started to assemble my adult tricycle that I bought to haul garbage to the dumpsters.

He was paid a nominal amount of money to do this six months ago.

It took him a year to organize his possession. They were basically all over the carport for six months, two separate times

                                        The neighbor finally complained.

I don't know what took her so long.

I would have complained about two weeks after he made the mess.

MrsTuner had a shoulder replacement surgery last year and then experienced a couple of dislocations this year. Had another surgery a few days ago to tighten up the joint so I've been home managing ice rotations and trying to be helpful...

Yikes. A friend dislocated her replaced hip and said it was very painful.

Hope MrsTuner feels better soon and this tuneup surgery keeps things in place.
