At least Elon Musk is stepping down. Or pretending to as some would have it. Him with his chainsaw. A South African Nazi. Not a metaphor. I used to find him annoying. Now I see him as the personification of a nightmare.

Among the many problems, one is the involvement of private, for-profit companies. they worked for GEO, the private company contracted to run the facility, and not Ice, the government body that would decide her fate. while the private companies who own the facilities are run for profit, there’s no incentive to get people out quickly Also please don't quote this post, I'll be editing it soon.

Lol! No, I ended up with a pile of parts. I couldn't put them back together. I knew the watch would be ruined by my experiment. It was the kind of watch aimed at office workers before the quartz revolution and cellphones. It was a watch for collectors by the time I bought it. It wasn't an expensive IWC like the ones now.

Meaningless votes that meant nothing? Schumer could have put a wrench in this disaster but the Party has become a nihilistic disaster in and of itself.

My phone just asked me to set up a biometric identification i.e. fingerprint by pressing the power key. Except every time I did the Google messenger pop up blocked the UN started fingerprint. So today I'm locked out of Google Play. I wanted a note application. I also looked up my phone's specs and even though it has a new 5000 x battery my most important criterion, it has an LCD not an OLED display. I should have looked up the specs before I bought it. I guess the price was right (299) and I was in a panic having no phone with my phone lost. No, don't buy this phone. I don't regret it exactly but I'd be lying if I said I liked it. It's software interface is nothing short of bizarre and I have to live with my mistake if choosing an LCD screen. I hope this phone's battery lasts more than the last one's becoming very, very fast draining in only two years. I don't want to go through any of this again soon.

I like these melted cheese emojis. They remind me of the Japanese character Gudetama, the Lazy Egg: [image: 1743853536355-3b0799fa-60f2-465c-bf80-c594297ebc38-image.png]

He’s great, I always love his expressionless face during the shenanigans. I wonder how he did the Jedi ones. Maybe he wore a green body suit with green gloves?

The art of the deal. Nice going, Donny. After months of negotiations, a deal to turn over TikTok’s United States operations to a new company with a majority American ownership was finalized on Wednesday, according to senior administration officials. The investors -- which included Oracle, Blackstone, Andreeson Horowitz and several others -- ByteDance and the Trump administration negotiated and agreed to the terms. The plan was for President Donald Trump to sign an executive order to approve the deal this week, triggering a 120-day closing period to finalize the paperwork and financing. ByteDance would have maintained a minority ownership in the new company, under the 20% threshold required by Congress. All that remained was for the Chinese government to approve the deal — something all sides of the negotiations expected would happen. However, on Wednesday afternoon, Trump announced his tariffs. Thursday morning, representatives for ByteDance called the White House to say the Chinese government would not approve the deal until negotiations could be held on Trump’s tariffs. The deal remains in limbo, hostage to the emerging trade war between the U.S. and China. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Tiktok-deal-us-china-trade-war/story?id=120494441

This guy caught a break. Or more accurately, his brother did. A dying Venezuelan man was reunited with his brother Friday morning in an emotional reunion outside a restaurant near the ICE processing center in Broadview that federal authorities released him from so he could donate a kidney to save his brother’s life. Alfredo Pacheco, 37, of Cicero, is facing terminal renal failure. On Wednesday, ICE agreed to release José Gregorio González, 43, to undergo the transplant, giving the siblings and those who support them much hope and relief. “I’m extremely happy, it’s a blessing,” Pacheco told the Friday. Last month, the Tribune was the first to report that González had been arrested by the Immigration and Customs authorities and was awaiting deportation. Elected officials, including Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Sen. Dick Durbin and U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García, rallied in support of the Venezuelan brothers, with more than 1,700 people signing a petition requesting that ICE release González. https://archive.is/b52ig
