Most of my Mader knowledge of Japanese language comes from that book. I started watching the new series but then lost Hulu.

@Bernard good question, Bernard. I could imagine that the bar arranged for it to be there some years ago, then the bar changed ownership or a manager quit, and the new person in charge didn’t care or just let it slip down the priority list…

I can imagine! I love the soft white Christmas lights, they make everything feel twinkly and warm. 🙂

Jan. 6th is always my take-down day, but this year the 6th is a Monday and I have a ton of meetings on that day -_- so I planned to undecorate early this year. If we had outdoor lights, I’d want them out longer.

Maybe I should just call mine a “dining room grand” since it’s in the room that’s supposed to be the dining room. 😅

For my work, I am using a 2016 edition of Office, and the software lives on my hard drive. There is no connection to the cloud whatsoever. However I have a tablet and another laptop that use the online Office subscription, so I will definitely do as you report here for options. I didn't have any trouble finding an earlier edition of Office and getting it to work on my Win7 machine. One of the reasons for doing this is not wanting the intrusions of later versions of Windows. It's strictly for my writing. Web surfing and research happen on the tablet, which is run by Android. Thought I'd mention this in case anyone else here would like to escape Win11.

I have never let this stop me and offer my medical insights and opinions to my doctor on a semi-regular basis. 😄

Fortunately he takes it in stride and manages to find ways to help me correct any erroneous ideas I might have, and to nudge me in the right direction. If I persist, he lets it drop without making a big deal about it. He's a really, really good doctor. Stays on top of things and is always looking out for the best interests of his patients. I think he's a rarity and I'm lucky to have him as my PCP.

Yea, my Android phone suggests emojis for my texts all the time. And if I send a text with a question ("Do you want to go for a walk?") and the recipient doesn't answer, the next day it asks me if I want to follow up because I haven't gotten a response.

Thanks Google, I don't want or need the help. There's probably a way to turn it off but I haven't chased that down yet...

Probably but I don't want to bother the organizer too much.

I suspect that maybe some of them are sick, and others maybe just weren't ready (they're college students in the music program here). It sounds like this concert had a smaller number of performers to begin with, so maybe the Nov. concert will be ok since there are more people on the program...
