    Our first, too. Word is that it will all melt this afternoon.

    The critters seem to be taken by surprise by the weather. There was a huge rabbit that was bounding through the snow from the front yard to the back yard. He seemed to be dismayed about having cold feet, as was a squirrel who scurried from one tree to another out in front...

        @ShiroKuro Still coming down. 2 to 4 inches predicted now, quite a bit more than was forecast last night.

        P.S. Don't forget to bring in any pots that can't freeze, like the terra cotta one I think I see on the deck....

          thanks for the tip! I don't actually know what the colorful one is made out of, might be metal actually IIRC. And the "terra cota" one is plastic, I'm pretty sure. I'll ask Mr SK though. That one is (dead?) shiso.

          It's not below 32F yet here. But we can put those in the garage nevertheless.

            Interesting.

            Tomorrow night we get our first low in the '50's.

            Hurricane season is finally over too.

                    We have ourselves a genuine Currier and Ives situation here! 😱

                    It’s been snowing for the last 2 hours.

                      Just rain (much needed!) in NYC today, but snow just off to the northwest. Still harvesting herbs from the garden, as there hasn’t been a freeze yet.

                        @Steve-Miller
                        The snow in Cleveland was very apparent during the Browns-Steelers game last night. We got just a light snowfall here north of Pittsburgh and it's all gone now as the temperature rose into the 40s along with rain.

                          We got an honest=to-god ice storm today. Our north-facing picture windows are glazed over like bathroom windows. The lawn is slick enough to fall and bust your head. The banisters on the deck are useless because they are too slippery to hold onto. Had to lock up the horses so they wouldn't fall and slide down the hill on their sides. We were able to make a path on the deck to the lawn using salt, then put on ice cleats and use hiking poles to get to the barn. This is quite unusual for our part of the world.

                                  5 inches and the county closed down lol. Our planned trip to Blanchland Christmas artisan market cancelled.
