I locked myself out for the nth time. It took me I guess about three weeks. I got in just now.

Well, I have been moving out of my place and moving into my new place.

It was necessary to keep two places during last month.

Honestly, I have been at it was six or seven days a week and working through countless nights.

I've cleaned up my old place, moved my stuff, moved two heavy pieces of furniture by myself, cleaned out what I didn't need at my new place, spring cleaned my new place, made countless trips to the dump with my hatchback's seats folded down and the trunk filled with yard bags of garbage.

Did I mention I'm exhausted and in.pain from my head to my feet? Having two accidents (my fall from the top of a 6' moving gate followed by tripping over the top of a moving container in the dark and landing sideways on concrete as you might remember). Well, I injured my right side the first time and my left side when I tripped and fell. Bad timing.

I got quotes from movers (2 movers, $200 per hour). I decided I didn't need them and forced myself through will power to do it myself.

So, the paperwork for the old place is one step from being done. The paperwork for the new place is done.

I got a summons to traffic court for what the prosecution will argue that I was driving an unregistered vehicle and that would be a criminal violation. I wasn't.

I'm gathering my paperwork, learning the court's policies, and planning on appearing because you get a bench warrant if you don't appear. Very stressful.

Still, I'm feeling a little better. There's no mold, no rotting house, no more tiny living space; I have electricity-- so much healthier and more comfortable!

As an aside-- latest news at my alma mater...

They are tripling the student population, extreme but predictable (this and the money it will bring from different sources was the plan all along, 30 years in the making).

Worse, the governor has ordered the alumni association to disband! The alumni association reply was to refuse. I haven't paid attention to this since the day it was news.

Also, they changed the ancient Minoan seal by changing the shape of the four winds (it represents nature but now looks like a machine). They eliminated the sun in the center! They replaced it with some unrecognizable shape.

Well, they are trying to erase previous generations of students from the institution's memory.

I think it's passing strange that these people have decided alumni should have to live without this bog standard resource for students' community and professional association.

Other than that, I'm avoiding news and politics to a good extent because there's only so many hours in a day.

Thanks admin. for helping me get in again!

    I hope everyone is well!

So you are living solo? That's great. We will need pics of the new place when you get it in order.

Welcome back, Daniel! Glad events are going well for you. Must feel luxurious to have your own place now.

                    The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

Thanks, Bernard! It does feel luxurious.

I felt like I was living in the 19th century at my last place.

FEMA declared it uninhabitable after Milton.

But that has practical meaning to local officials.

I did appreciate having a roof over my head, a bathroom, and cold running water, truly.

I did look on the bright side. That helped.

So your new place is a condo or are you still in the park?
