The Indomitable Covid Virus

I got the Covid 19 booster on Wednesday. Opera season and a World Music Festival are starting up here. They get crowded and I don’t want to go unprotected. I requested Pfizer because all my previous Covid shots were Pfizer. Pfizer wasn’t available at the CVS drug store chain which administered the shot so I got the Moderna vaccine instead which is interchangeable with Pfizer.
My arm was sore and I had body ache for about a day and a half afterward but it’s better than catching a Covid.

@Mik Get well soon.
I don't get the mRNA vaccinations.
I did finally get my first in a series of three Hepatitis A/B vaccinations. They're on a schedule of 0, 1, and 6 months. I'd be done now if I hadn't procrastinated.
I still wear masks. My supply was dwindling. RM brought his mother's car here the other day (before he totaled it). I found a new box of masks in the trunk. I took about 1/3 of them.

Maybe mid-october
Can you find info about how much is circulating locally? I read somewhere (NYTs maybe?) that the recommendation was to get the covid show soon (early or mid-Sept) because of how much virus was circulating. OTOH it said that the flu shot could wait until late Sept or October.

I got the Covid vax (Moderna) a couple weeks ago, because we’re traveling again. I hadn’t had one since December. The shot gave me a hot arm (red, warm) for a week! My previous was Pfizer, no reaction.
I’m waiting for a flu shot in late October.
Do y’all get RSV vax?

Please in Florida think you have COVID if you're wearing a mask. I don't wear one 100% of the time but I really should because I read cases are rising here.
They save me from breathing lots of particulates from pollution and vehicle exhaust too.
My PCP says they don't work. He won't let me wear one in the examining room. I think they help and can't hurt.
I'm going to be more consistent about wearing them.
My lungs are compromised because I'm an ex- smoker and I wouldn't rule out having some kind of auto-immune disorder too.

Wow that sounds awful. You might want to mention that to a provider or at the least, the next time you get a vax, stay in the store for a bit afterwards to make su rehou don’t have a full blown allergic reaction.

I thought I was under the age limit but maybe I’m … lemme ask go the google.

The hot red spot was just the back of my arm, about as big as the palm of my hand. It didn’t keep me from doing anything; it was just annoying.

I had the Moderna vax the first two times (remember 2020?). I had swollen underarm lymph nodes on that side, which made one boob temporarily bigger. This was a common reaction, and you’re supposed to wait six weeks (?) before getting a mammogram so it doesn’t read false positive.
Both Mr. AM and I went to CVS pharmacies for our most recent vax; his had Pfizer and mine had Moderna. They didn’t tell us beforehand which one they had. We scheduled online.

I've gotten every covid vax and booster since they came... IIRC the first several ones were Moderna, then a Pfizer, and then this most recent one was Moderna again. I think...
The only kinds of reactions I've had have been arm soreness and flu-like symptoms (which a few times were really, really bad) but I've never had the covid arm or those other symptoms.

Nothing official, but it appears to me that the Pfizer jabs cause fewer adverse reactions than other brands
