Repeal the Trump tax cut
Eliminate subsidies for oil companies
Eliminate price supports for feed corn and soybeans
Remove the cap on Social Security contributions
Beef up enforcement at the IRS -
Yep. As @Steve-Miller points out, there are lots of ways to make cuts without jeopardizing vulnerable people.
Also re homeless, affordable housing etc., what about all the studies showing that subsidizing housing ends up costing less than having large populations of homeless?
This country has the ability to take care of its weakest members, it just doesn’t have the right mindset.

With all of the automation and AI taking over jobs the question that isn't getting asked goes something like this:
How do we create a society where everyone has the opportunity to live comfortably when there aren't enough jobs to go around?
Or are we coming to a "let them eat cake" breakpoint? That seems to be the Republican plan that is being acted out in Washington...

I’ll withhold judgement on the housing plan until I see details. I like the idea of block grants if they can work.

I'm not against block grants taking the place of vouchers (unless someone wants to persuade me otherwise), ...
According to the paper’s sources, the administration is considering “cutting or canceling out the vouchers” and replacing them with a “more limited system of housing grants, perhaps sent to states.”
... but "more limited" is troublesome.

Sec 8 works, and I’m speaking as a landlord. This voucher thing is an unknown, and sending it to states like Ohio is not likely to help anyone.
