By now "switched at birth" stories have many precedents. Not that that makes it easy emotionally for the people evolved; but there should be templates to trace on how to go forward practically. Chances are they will be fine.

This is hilarious because this isn't how dogs act! Notice the cat gets a cameo role. Link to video

@Steve-Miller said in DOGE will be a test: I’m so old I remember the Grace commission. They came up with any number of good ideas that went exactly nowhere. This latest iteration is DOA. Yea, DOGE is listed in the See Also section of the Wikipedia entry for the Grace Commission.

@wtg Rooting for injuries is all they’re gonna get from me. I predict that they’ll scratch each other’s eyes out.

I agree with Cindy's post. It is the Democrats and only the Democrats who have let identity politics displace concern for the fact every one is being unjustly pressured by issues of economic fairness and justice. Of course the Republicans take advantage of this nonsense.

Interesting! I love opera. I have the discernment for it not to be modest but have an inability to concentrate enough to listen to one from beginning to end. My inability would be worse at a live performance. It would be a diaster. I choose which ones I listen to carefully listen to them in segments and they always end up being recordings of live performances. Someone once made an interesting comparison between opera and rock/ pop. She said the performance of rock/ pop is on an elevated stage whereas with opera it is reversed and the audience is elevated over the stage. I'm not sure what this might mean but pop is also one of my favorite genres. My 301's had one front facing driver with two small ones on the side one of which faced the back wall, iirc. I was happy with them. It was the last time I had a system per se. I miss having one.

Important to remember that the listener has a different expectation from the performer. (I'm still working on that one!) “The amateur believes he must first overcome his fear; then he can do his work. The professional knows that fear can never be overcome. He knows there is no such thing as a fearless warrior or a dread-free artist.” ― Steven Pressfield

Oh, dear "Robot" is what I say into the phone when I get frustrated by those ubiquitous computer systems answering almost any business call these days some of them complex. I'll start addressing the system as "robot" if I get frustrated and if I get very frustrated I'll repeat "agent' over and over until I get one or the computer ends the call. I'll call right back if that happens and start again. I find I have to deal with this a lot especially with healthcare. The other side of the coin is seemingly endless forms on the internet coming to a dead stop if one letter, number, or character is incorrect. This reminds to find a provider for an eye exam. I don't think I'll do it until at least the end of the week. I have five medical appointments between Monday and Wednesday already scheduled. I might take Thursday off and try to make an appointment on Friday. I have three new medications to take from the specialist, a two month follow up appointment, and a referral to a urologist. I don't know what to think about robots but I guess they're here to stay.

Nice selection of tinned soups! I've never seen a broccoli and Stilton nor a butternut squash and prosciutto soup but both sound fabulous. Well, I'd love the broccoli/Stilton; Mr wtg doesn't do blue cheeses. Now I have to go recipe hunting.

5 inches and the county closed down lol. Our planned trip to Blanchland Christmas artisan market cancelled. Norwegians and Canadians would laugh. Melting fast this afternoon.

They don't use the word, "invasion" in the phrase, "invasion of privacy," for nothing. Creepy and disgusting.

It seems appropriate that the gadget shows up on a website named odditycentral. The concept is very interesting and related to some other wind-powered digital instruments that cost 100s of times more, but the implementation looks minimally functional. I'd have to classify it more as a novelty than a game-changer. Maybe it's a digital kazoo. Big Al
