Smartphones and laptops will update automatically, but how many clocks do you have to change manually?

We actually have a lot. The microwave, three wall clocks, four alarm clocks… some wrist watches. I think that’s it, but it’s like 9 or 10!

      Mostly appliances and my car.

I have an alarm clock in my bedroom but it has a DST ON/OFF switch in the back so I only need to change the switch.

Having said that, it’s sufficiently inaccurate that after six months the time has drifted enough to need fixing so I’ll do that too.

@jon-nyc I always forget about the car!

Actually our alarm clocks have the DST button too, thankfully!

Fourteen, but a few will not be started up so probably around 12.

              Ok you win! 😄 that’s a lot!

Another thing I forgot is our outdoor lights, which are on a timer. I think they’re supposed to adjust automatically, but if memory serves, last year, I had to adjust them manually.

15, I think. Kind of lost count.

2 ranges, one microwave. 2 bedroom alarm clocks. One in kitchen, 2 in living room, one in garage. Some number in basement, two cars.

Seems excessive but I just like clocks. These new battery powered movements make them easy to keep running.

Seven, counting a wristwatch, and not counting the microwave which is often unplugged anyway. We leave it at 88:88.

Since all of mine except two are antique wind-ups they simply need to be stopped and re-started an hour later. They cannot go backward.

I like to listen to a fine mechanical watch by putting it to my ear.

I might be able to tolerate a flip clock but I doubt it.

That's why I had to hide my digital watch.

I can't make it stop beeping on the hour.

                                  I can't stand hearing it.

The clock in the car can go on its merry way. I can't bring myself to care.

I haven't changed my stove. I need to do that.

The Persistence of Memory (often mistaken as "The Persistence of Time") is held at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.
If you are thinking of a similarly named masterpiece by Salvador Dalí, here is where his most famous time-related works are located:
                                      • The Persistence of Memory (1931) – Featuring the iconic melting clocks, this painting is housed at MoMA in New York City.
                                      • The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory (1952–1954) – Dalí's later reinterpretation of the original work is held at The Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.
If you meant a different piece of art or a specific collection, let me know! Are you planning a visit to see it, or looking for historical details about the painting?

@ShiroKuro It's probably ok on modern mechanical clocks. But it could have dire consequences for antique chiming clocks.

                                          The industrial revolution cheapened everything.
