    Need to defrost freezer and it’s packed. Saw a Reddit post that makes me glad to live in Ohio.

    Wait until January. Once the temp drops below 10° put everything on the porch and defrost away. Couldn’t do this in California.

      I’ve thought about doing that…but the NYC area can get surprisingly warm in winter.

      But our unheated garage makes a dandy refrigerator.

        Done that for decades with a porch or deck... It doesn't even need to be THAT cold, especially if you have some big coolers to load and drag outside for a while!

          I went a whole winter with no fridge, only an upstairs back porch. Worked fine.

            I have a chest freezer in the garage that could probably hold everything in my inside freezer if needed
