I try a new Times recipe about once a week. In about a quarter of those, there’s a problem that presents itself during cooking. And then I go to the comments and one or more people have done the troubleshooting and reported back. If I’d checked the comments beforehand, I could have made the correction.

    Is that your experience?

The only time I ever made something from a NYT recipe was during the pandemic, I tried to make a no-bake cheesecake and it was horrible. 😅
I probably should have check the comments!

I do check the comments before hand and sometimes I use the suggestions! I don’t use them all, based on what I know about our tastes, but I definitely check!

I've made lots of NYTs and always read the comments beforehand. But I do that with all internet recipes.

Making ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter tonight. I hope they turn out as light as Barbara, a friend at the gym, claims.
