What are you watching?

I enjoyed the most recent season of The Bear even though it wasn’t as good as past seasons. I’m not doing a rewatch of Season 1.
I don’t know if it would be available in the US because it’s a Canadian show, but Plan B is very good (and super weird). The third season has just come out recently and we just finished watching it. It was my least favourite of the three seasons but still good.
We are also watching Northern Exposure as Rob had never seen it. We are only a few episodes in and I remember liking it more than I am this time so I’m hoping it gets better as it goes and I just forgot that the first bit wasn’t great.

Just finished the first season of A Man on the Inside on Netflix with Ted Danson and Stephanie Beatriz. I think they absolutely nailed the senior living experience based on the six weeks I spent living at my stepmothers place after she passed away last year.

For fans of Nero Wolfe. A&E series with Timothy Hutton as Archie and Maury Chaykin as Wolfe. Great soundtrack. Wish it were available to purchase.

On series 2 episode 4. So that's 26 out of 176 seen.
It's 20 years old and is fresh to rewatch.Incidentally in the first series he is shown in his home with a Sohmer piano. Laurie does play well of course.

Seen bits of skiing, shooting, and then there's the curling

Not even the jumping or ice hockey. None of it.
Am I getting old, or is it because they're wrapped up in five layers and it seems impersonal?

It's been more like watching darts, or snooker.@AndyD I've felt that way for years. When I was a kid I used to be glued to the TV when the Olympics were on, especially the Winter Games. Somewhere along the way, probably in the 1990s, it felt like the competitive nature of the Olympics became eclipsed by bling and commercialism and the true spirit of the Games pretty much disappeared.

Any more I have a lot of trouble with movies and shows that have disappointing endings. Movies that kill off the characters you like. Things that are too much like the chaos I feel like we are living in now. Real life is worrisome enough, I don’t need to watch that sh*t in the movies.

I think there's truth in Jodi's and Bob's comments.
I won't watch anything in the horror genre. I can imagine the subject matter without being reminded of it and I don't watching movies and shows about it.
It's the news I have to be more careful about how much I watch. I'm interested in it but binging on it is stressful.
My favorite PCP, an internist I saw for the last seven years I lived in Lahaina, helped me when Trump was elected the first time.
I told her my thoughts about it, and she said, "Yes, but life goes on."
Later, when following news (with my phone) was stressful, she said, "Turn it off. Just turn it off."
I might have to breakdown and buy a television again, though.
There are many good movies, dramas, comedies, and documentaries.
I'd like to be able to do more than watch clips.
