    I had never heard the term Googie (apparently pronounced with two hard Gs) but of course we all recognize it immediately. This article has great photos. I never liked that Arby’s sign, but a lot of the other examples do have the “Jetsons” cool look.

      Seeing the term "Googie" for the first time.
      Whatever it is, I have always thought it's just a phase that a civilization will get over quickly.

        As mentioned, really developed for the driving public.

            I didn’t know it had a name, but it’s instantly recognizable. I like it.

            We had one remaining McDonald’s that looked like that. Then it was empty but still on site next to a modern one. And now it’s gone. Buh-bye, Googie Mickey D…

              Places like McD and Taco Bell are really toning it down, at least in urban areas. Saw a Taco Bell the other day that looked like a gray box.

                @RealPlayer said in Googie Architecture:

                a gray box.

                All new architecture looks like a gray box. It's awful.

                  The grey box is terrible.
