    Question: Are proper names allowed in the Word association thread? I have avoided using them, but sometimes they are the first to pop into my mind.

    The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

        I thought the original rule was no proper nouns.

        My personal opinion is that rule is silly and that anything goes!

            Ok, but no improper nouns. This is a family forum.

                Are doubles 'allowed'? After Jon so politely posted "thank you" they must be.

                And is this the place to ask what the association is is even Google can't help?

                    iโ€™m not sure we even ever agreed on what the penalties are for incorrectly posting to that thread.

                      Mirror man was an iconic street character in the 60s and 70s in SF who would sit on the sidewalk all day with two mirrors aimed toward each other and try to look into it just right to see infinity.

                        @jon-nyc i had no idea!

                        I wanted to post โ€œsneakerโ€ after fuego but I suspected no one would get the reference.

                          @jon-nyc 'Mirror Man" was also a Capt. Beefheart song title. Maybe a reference to this character?
