Public Service Announcement here. Are there any Greek churches located near you? If so, check to see if they offer an annual Greek festival. The fests are held during the summer and it’s open to everyone. You don’t have to be Greek or be a member of their congregation to attend. There’s lots of great food and music. Some of the bands play traditional Greek music and other bands play more contemporary music. Some of the food entrees include:

Pastichio: a deep dish macaroni and beef,
    Spanakopita: a spinach pie,
    Moussaka: a Greek style lasagna,
    Saganaki, a flaming cheese.

I had the pastichio and the band Sixteen Candles provided the music. It was very crowded.

We have one. Haven’t been to their annual festival in years. It’s always crowded.

For Greek food, there’s a modest place in lower Manhattan, Kiki’s, that really has a variety of the authentic stuff. Greek wines you won’t find elsewhere too.

We have one, and the festival is a lot of fun. But very crowded, yes.

Yes. There's a Greek community in Tarpon Springs. They have a Greek festival. We went to it every year. It's an easy drive from Tampa. It's even closer from where I live. My PCP is in Tarpon Springs. I loved going to the Greek festival. What I like about Tarpon Springs the most today is that you realize once you get there, the land is more open and the air is cleaner. My grandmother had a good friend at work who was Greek. We would go to the festival with her family. My roommate's sister is married to a Greek man who was born and raised in Tarpon Springs. I considered moving there but found only once place I had to rule out. Thanks.

'But as they said in one of the later Rocky movies, "Time...it's undefeated.".-- Mik
