41 feels like 36. Actually headed to 37. The wind advisory is over.

This has been a long cold spell for us & the pianos reflect that! Tuned at a high school today. It was 60%+ humidity when I last tuned and 30% today. As you might guess, they were about 35 cents flat of A=440 (100 cents = a half step, or sounding the next note)

Sounding the next note would be terrible! Good grief.

We're floating in the high 50's/ low '60's down to high '40's/ low 50's.

It's too cold but it will be too hot soon enough. What can you do.

I've had a few more calls for sticking/sluggish parts as the wood of the action/keys shrink and cause binding. Ah, the seasonal piano dance for Chicago!

Reminds me of a joke. A foreigner approached a little girl in London and says “is it always thei grey and rainy here?”

She replies, “I don’t know, I’m only eight.”

Rained all day again, our lawn is mud, so have started hosepiping the dogs' legs before letting them back in.

On a positive note, after the driest summer since 1893 they just lifted the last hosepipe ban in the south of England.

I love Chicago! It's my favorite American city. Just saying.

I don't like rainy days as much as dry ones but for the trivial reason I don't have to clean up mud and have time to see to other stuff.

We have water. There are mains that need to be fixed every few months. The manager sends a crew immediately and we don't go without water for more than an hour or two.

We didn't get a lot of rain last summer. The weeds and grass didn't grow in the rock beds that needed to be replaced from the beginning. Again, I could see to other stuff.

There were no hurricanes on our side of the Gulf including Louisiana.

It was a lucky break after we the had two catastrophic hurricanes the previous season.

One caused major damage to my place. It took a year to get everything renovated and cleaned up.

I would be remiss not to mention the other hurricane caused catastrophic damage up through North Carolina after hitting us south of here.

I love rainy days all things being equal.

Today (Sat.) we go into the deep freeze, with a low of 7 degrees and a wind chill of minus 16 in the evening. Continues on Sunday.

Joe, Aren't you glad you aren't living on the street? I don't know how the homeless manage the winter here, let alone there.
