I don't think it's hate so much as disinterest and having harmless fun with an First Lady and her vanity project that didn't flop for no reason.

Yea, I don't get the Obama comparison. The attacks on her were vicious and non-stop.

Melania has been largely left alone, probably because she is mostly absent in terms of doing much of anything that the public sees. This film is getting attention because a) it's apparently pretty bad and b) Bezos/Amazon paid a lot of money for it, which makes people speculate the reasoning behind that spend.

That said, I'm not a fan of the stuff that makes sexual references about her. I also never found the weekly cheerleaders pics that folks used to post next door to be much fun either, so maybe I'm just a stick in the mud.

The Michelle Obama comparison is risible.

Agreed. There's more than enough to poke fun at here without that.

Also, not the most important criticism, but it's just tacky. If you want to release a documentary like this, at least do it after you're no longer the current first lady. It's like everything they do, tacky, self-serving, profit driven.... Gross.

All this hate for Melania is very reminiscent of the same for Michelle Obama. Utterly undeserved and cruel.

But the airplane walkout meme is funny.

@Mik I think the " I really don't care" jacket went a long way towards turning people off. She was the first 'lady', and I think it showed extremely bad taste.

              The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

I've said this before. She wore that jacket getting on the presidential plane to tour a Hurricane Level 5 disaster zone.

                          Mindboggling.

I suspect that was the intent.

Then when she explained herself butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.

Yeah, she looked great at the first inaugural. It's been all down hill since that day.

Millions and millions of Bezos' dollars for production and marketing. Makes him look like a damned fool.

The Guardian reports that “UK ticket sales for Melania are so far ‘soft,’ according to Tim Richards, the chief executive of Vue, one of the country’s biggest cinema operators. Just one ticket has been sold for the first 3.10pm screening on Friday at its flagship Islington branch in London, while two have been booked for 6pm.
“At the time of publication, all seats remained available for the 28 screenings of Melania at the Blackburn, Castleford and Hamilton branches.”
“The picture was slightly rosier at the Cineworld in Wandsworth, which had sold four tickets, while five backrow seats were also booked at the Cineworld in Broughton.”
So, that’s a total of 11 tickets so far.

A local theater is no longer showing this, because Amazon didn’t like their marquee marketing.

                                        Read for the two marquees

I won't ever know if Melania wears Prada. I liked her first inaugural outfit. Her choice of the "I don't care. Do you?" designer makes everything she's worn from the swearing in ceremony to today a run away train to nowhere in particular.
