My most recent Craigslist purchase is a 1907 roller organ. I drove to Williston, VT to pick it up. It was pretty beat up but I got a sense from the pics in the ad that it could be rehabilitated. The price was right. I wrote about it here: https://twistandvibrations.blogspot.com/
As a follow up to that write up, here is where it stands now. I need to cut a piece of glass for the window, and the bellows definitely need a rebuild. It's not just the paper valve; I've since noticed that some tinkering in the past shortened the pitman rods running the exhausters.
The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

I tried to sell some stuff on Craigslist this summer and didn't get any replies. I have a friend with a FB Marketplace (think it's called, not on FB) business where four of my five items sold quickly.
He and his wife's daughter had to be put in the ICU and I asked told them to keep the fifth one for any of their family who could use it because they had to spend every day at the hospital.
Someone told me Craigslist got less business after they had to ban sex workers' ads. I don't know if that's true. Maybe it's a local thing. Maybe the items I had don't sell well there. I don't know.

I’ve stopped selling stuff. I give things away locally on a town Facebook group. I just can’t be bothered fielding the messages, letting people come see something, haggling, etc. I even gave away a queen bed from pottery barn that was theee years old and cost me over 2k. The new owners were very grateful.
The exception is selling things for my son. But it’s been a while since he asked me to do that.
I buy a few OTC meds in bulk on eBay, saved me hundreds over Walgreens or CVS.

I’ve never done this, I would be worried about quality or authenticity. Who are the suppliers for these items? How do you confirm that you’re getting what you think you are? Is it just because the packages are sealed etc?

Yeah that and known (Indian) brands. Also the sellers have been around a long time with lots of bulk sales in these items and high ratings.
At the risk of TMI, my transplant meds have unfortunate GI side effects and I go through a lot of loperamide (Imodium A/D). At CVS or Walgreens it’s about $0.75-$1 a pill. A well known Indian brand sells a bottle of 200 for less than $25 including shipping. Not a small difference at all especially when you eat them like candy.

I haven't stopped yet but am heading in that direction, doing more and more give away. Diminishing returns when it comes to the energy expended to sell and money earned.
Whether sold or given away, we've met some interesting people as we downsize our possessions.

@Bernard What a cool project. Mr wtg and I watch The Repair Shop and love it when they take apart musical instruments, music boxes, and clocks, fix/clean them, and get them up and running again!

I've had some success on FB Marketplace - buying and selling fitness equipment and some electronics -BUT I've also given away a lot of things - and have more to dispense with. Last night I was giving away some Arcteryx and other high end gear at our running club - but it is amusing that some folks are funny about things - even if gently used or in a few cases new. Didn't want to even look at the stuff. They're above that. Ok - whatever...

@wtg I had never heard of the program (well, not surprising since I don't have tv or streaming services). I just watched an episode (Season 5 Episode 59 Christmas Special) on YouTube, and I'll definitely watch some more. It was a bit of a tearjerker at times!

@Bernard A friend told us about it and we went hunting on YT and found a couple of channels that seem to have uploaded all the episodes. There are tons of them. It’s a great show. The Repair Shop folks have some amazing skills. And it’s so heartwarming to see the reactions of the people when they come in to pick up their treasures after they’ve been repaired. Some amazing stories behind those precious mementos, too.
