It's getting crazy out there. The previous UF head of academic affairs, Joseph Glover, became provost at the University of Arizona about three months ago. Then both the UA president and UF president announced they're stepping down. Suddenly Glover ditches UA and scurries back to UF.
Both universities are dealing with spending issues. UA is deeply in the red, relative to budget and reserves.

RE: Thank you, Mr President
Too many Joes in this post. I think we should start referring to Joe B. and Joe M. like in primary school. Or we could also use Joe B. and Quisling. That also works.

RE: Three Books
The books that made the biggest impact for me is a tough call. I suppose I'd have to say Ulrich Neisser's 1967 book Cognitive Psychology, whose focus and methods inspired my PhD and most of my career.
But the most memorable books for me are novels, and they do vary. On the shortest list I would have to place Peter Carey's Oscar and Lucinda for its sheer imaginative force, and Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon for its spectacularly beautiful writing. -

That's great! Such beautiful gardens and flowers. I'm not surprised to hear you had a wonderful time.

RE: Holy shit, he did it.
A Harris Trump debate is something I might actually watch. But I think Trump will use this as an excuse to not debate any longer.

I dunno what polls you still are reading, but Biden wasn't polling to lose bigly, but he wasn't helping any down ballot candidates.
And does this mean we no longer have to abbreviate WTF? hahaha

RE: Pianist Magazine
I'm so annoyed at the demise of ITunes. I lost so much music when they folded. I'd placed a lot of my CDs on there so I could listen to them on my computer or Sonos, and I had a LOT of my concerts (accompaniments) and regional/state competitions on there as well. They're now all lost, because it never occurred to me to put them on the cloud because they were on ITunes.
Blergh.
Like everyone else, it sounds like, I have a pile of CDs that I would love to digitize for no other reason than to clear out some space, but there's no real way to do that now and link it to a player--at least not that I know of.
