Trump rushed off stage at PA rally

Thomas Crooks, age 20.
Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022. He was one of nearly two dozen students from the school to earn a $500 "star award" from the National Math and Science Initiative.
An online recording of his graduation ceremony shows him walking the stage to minimal applause and briefly posing with a school official, the New York Times reported.
A search by Fox News Digital revealed Crooks would have turned 21 years old this September. He had no reported criminal or traffic citations and no reported bankruptcies, liens or foreclosures.
Crooks was a registered Republican, according to voting records, but he only participated in the Nov. 8, 2022, state election due to his age. Records show he made a $15 donation to Progressive Turnout Project, a Chicago-based political action committee that supports Democrat candidates for public office and claims to advocate for "key Democratic constituencies: young people, minorities and low-income people."

@wtg There is speculation that the $15 donation was made by his left-leaning mother in his name.
As current speculation goes, this is pretty tame.

Yea, I didn't make much of it. I read elsewhere that it was made in 2021, shortly after January 6th. He would have been 16. Hardly a sign of radicalization.
I wonder if this situation will end up being like the kid who shot up the Highland Park (IL) July 4th parade two years ago. Turns out he had a horrible home life and was teased at school. Why he decided to shoot up his hometown celebration will probably never be answered beyond "he was deeply troubled". Everything he's said and done since the shooting would lead one to agree.

Gun and ammo purchased legally by Crooks' father.
Crooks' former classmates haven't had anything remarkable to say about him.
The man who died , Corey Comperatore, was a married firefighter with two daughters. His wife spoke with Gov Shapiro and said he dove on family members to protect them.

Remarkable photo by a NYT photographer. Shows the bullet whizzing past Trump's head.

That took place about 16 miles from where I live. Apart from the name recognition of the intended victim, it seems like just another assault rifle shooting. Move along; nothing to see here. Those weapons have many legitimate uses and anyhow, guns don't kill people, people kill people.

How the planning might have failed.

The shooter's motive is still a mystery.

Interesting to me that the secret service let him stand up with his head exposed and gave him the time to pump his fist and shout a few times... That just doesn't seem like something they would normally do with an active shooter in the area...

Security had been increased in Trump's detail before Saturday because of concerns about a possible Iranian assassination attempt. No indications that Crooks was connected to that. But holy cow anyway.

An alleged Iranian connection was pushed by Netenyahu when he gave his speech to Congress. I'm 99% sure but I could be wrong. I'll post the quote or tape if I can find it.
Thanks, wtg. Moving on to thread #2.
