So Putin seems to have won on all fronts.

The Europeans are stepping up to support Zelenskyy and Ukraine.

Any ideas what might happen tomorrow? And beyond?

Yep. truly awful. But not surprising. 😕

Any ideas what might happen tomorrow? And beyond?

No, but is there any justification for anything other than pessimism? 😞

Well, yea, definitely from Trump; that goes without saying.

He looked crushed at the end of the summit. The 'there goes my Nobel Peace Prize' look. Wonder if he'll talk to the Norwegian prime minister again about how the Nobel thing is going.

And he'll step away from the process (Not my war. Biden's fault.) and blame Zelenskyy if there isn't any kind of agreement. Remember how Obama was pilloried for the "red line" and not following through? Trump just caved in record time on two demands, a ceasefire and if no ceasefire, then "dire consequences". TACO again.

But I was actually thinking about the rest of the world...

I think the Europeans are stepping up to the plate. They've figured out they can't rely on the US for much, and that they will continue to back Zelenskyy

Perhaps not a coincidence that Ukraine is publicly talking about building a new easy-to-manufacture cruise missile system with a 1 ton payload capable of striking targets 3000 km away.

                        https://en.defence-ua.com/weapon_and_tech/ukraines_flamingo_is_the_fp_5_missile_with_3000_km_range_and_a_one_ton_warhead-15513.html

The system isn't hypothetical. It's operational.

Watching the so-called press conference with Zelenskyy and Trump.

Gawd, I'm so embarrassed by Trump. He's whining about how badly treated he is by the press. And when asked about the need for a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, he went off on a tangent talking about the six wars he's stopped in just six months, and how they never even considered a ceasefire in any of those.

I can't f***ing believe this guy. Biden on his worst days made more sense.

His background in stand up comedy stands him in good stead.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may have traded his trademark olive drab for a sharp black suit at the White House on Monday, but he didn’t let a reporter off the hook for sticking to old habits.

“You look fabulous in that suit,” Brian Glenn of the right-wing outlet Real America’s Voice told the Ukrainian president during his meeting with Donald Trump. Glenn had earlier critised Zelensky over his wardrobe choices during a February White House session.

Trump quickly jumped in: “I said the same thing. Isn’t he the one who attacked you last time?”

Zelenskyy smiled and fired back with the line of the day: “I remember him. But you [looking at the reporter] are in the same suit. I changed mine.”

                            The exchange drew laughs.

                              Trump got rolled.

                              No, our country got rolled.

                              Putin: Look! Squirrel!!

                              Trump's reponse:

President Trump said Monday he would renew his assault on mail-in voting after Russia’s autocratic leader, Vladimir Putin, told him to do so at their meeting in Alaska last week.

The president provided few details, but wrote on social media that he would “lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we’re at it, Highly ‘Inaccurate,’ Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES.”

Trump blamed his 2020 election loss to President Biden on a conspiracy of voter fraud. But independent analysts, state attorneys general and every court that reviewed the matter found no evidence of fraud that altered results in the race.

“Vladimir Putin said something — one of the most interesting things. He said, ‘Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting,’” Trump told Fox News in an interview.

I think Canada and the EU are going to have to take drastic action. If Putin is allowed to get away with this, Europe is next. The gasbag-in-chief is obviously completely useless. Quit including him in anything. Quit deferring to him. Pretend he doesn't exist and go save Ukraine. People have got to learn how to deal with narcissistic sociopaths. It's not by pandering to them.
