Photographers are great at making spaces seem deceptively large to the viewer.
Take this picture: Classic use of extreme wide angle lens. Makes the space look gigantic.

Ahh now that you mention it, I can see how this photo is at an odd angle. I didn't notice because I wasn't really looking closely the way I would if we were hunting.
When we put our house on the market, the real estate agent had someone do one of those 3D walk through videos (or whatever they're called). I asked if they were going to take photos as well, and she said "no, we'll just grab some stills from the video." I remember being suspicious of that, and asked her to show me the photos before she listed them. Sure enough, there were some that I thought were very deceptive -- IOW they made the space look a lot bigger than it was. So I had her re-do a few because it just felt dishonest (they didn't have to re-shoot, she just had to redo the process of getting the screengrabs/stills). She didn't see the problem, but agreed when I pushed. The final selection felt honest to me, which I thought was important.

Here is one we're planning to look at when we're in Vegas after Christmas. If it's still on the market in three weeks.

My son and daughter-in-law like to joke that we don't go house shopping, we go house buying. It's an exaggeration, of course, but it's based on our experience in buying in Santa Fe. We told the real estate agent when we started in 2017 that we were not buying, just shopping to get a sense of what was in the area. She showed us five very different options so she could begin to understand our preferences over location, style, and amenities. We came back a second year, saying the same thing. Not planning to buy for a while .... and bought a place a month or so later. We're telling the agent the same story this time....
My wife is retiring in a few days. I'm giving W&M one more year (only teaching the first term, just doing research and service the second term). At that point we may sell our home in the Burg and replace it with one in Las Vegas near the family out there. Then we would go back and forth between Santa Fe (Summer) and Las Vegas (winter).

Congratulations to Dr Piano*Mom (I just made up that name).

@Piano-Dad - Digital for Santa Fe? Still gives you something to play, but less maintenance and fewer worries that an airbnb renter will damage it....I know, I know....I'm a piano barbarian....

Again, Hah! I might, if I played enough to justify it.
But probably not. I'm thinking that prepping the Santa Fe place for a piano would be a real pain. In any case, Piano*Son may wind up with the piano at some point in the not too distant future.

Does he still play regularly?
Remind me what kind of piano you have?
