The silver lining is you don’t have to wear a mask in the house anymore.

@jon-nyc more than just at-home masking, I’m really happy we don’t have to isolate from each other anymore.

He was in Japan for almost three weeks, and I was missing him, then he was home for two days and then got sick, so we’ve been isolating from each other since then, not eating together etc. And it was really wearing on me!

Now we don’t have to do that anymore, yay!

All during the early time of the pandemic, we never got sick so we never were isolated from each other. I now realize I missed a huge part of what was so stressful during the pandemic.

@AdagioM I really don’t like presenting on Zoom. I do it a fair amount, and I agree it’s very convenient and inexpensive. But I much prefer in person.
Anyway, I need to look at the program more closely, but there are most certainly a few sessions I’ll attend by Zoom, as long as I don’t feel too terrible. This conference is fully hybrid, so about half of the presenters were already scheduled to be on zoom, and all of the sessions will be available for zoom attendance.

My panel is a special invited panel (as opposed to the other ones, where presenters submit abstracts and have to be selected), and they’re giving us each an honorarium. If it wasn’t I might just cancel, but alas.

@ShiroKuro I definitely prefer in-person, but Zoom makes gigs possible that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. Mixed blessing.

I’m glad you tested positive for Covid, if only so you can now hang out with Mr. SK!

Do you have groceries delivered? Hunker down and get better soon.

This reminds me that I need to come up from the basement and get my shots. Not sure how many I can get at once but I want them all!

(my) Steve got Covid and Flu in one arm and the pneumonia
Vaccine in the other at the same time. 😳😳😳 He did ok. I do them one at a time.

Glad you don’t have to isolate any more, SK. You’ll feel better in a few days.

So sorry, SK. I hope the Zoom call goes well - and then you submerge and rest.

@Jodi I like to do my vaxes one at a time, so I know which one is making me miserable. Mostly they don’t, but the Moderna covid vaxes would give me a hot arm and swollen underarm lymph nodes, so I try to get Pfizer jabs for Covid.

@AdagioM I have found that when I get more than one at a time, I feel crummy, but so far, getting only one (of any sort) hasn't made me feel bad.

In Dec. I'm scheduled for shot #2 of the shingle vax. Shot #1 made me feel horrible, so I'm really not looking forward to #2, which is said to be worse!

BTW, I spent some time tweaking my presentation notes today, and then got back into bed... I think I forgot how to be sick. I'm pretty sure I'm not very sick, and pre-covid me would be powering through this. But after all these years of never getting sick, I think I've turned into a big baby!

                    😄

Pull up the covers, SK. Sleep. It’s the best watch to get past this.

It will all be over before you know it!
