    @ShiroKuro Between 6 and 7 feet. Like a Steinway A3 or Mason AA. I hear that longer key lengths (7 ft.) give more control, but I worry about the resulting loudness, as in my current 9 footer.

    @RealPlayer 6 to 7 feet will get you a great piano!

    Is the loudness bothering you when you play with your current piano, or are you just worried about neighbors?

      Yes, the current piano bothers me. Nine foot grand, hard as heck hammers, harsh tone, really needs a new action. I wear musicians’ earplugs just to be able to practice.

        One minute I'm reading the title of this thread, "Feeling old yet?", next minute I'm reading about 6 to 7 feet! Egads. 🙂

        The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

            @RealPlayer That's fine... as long as 6 feet ... isn't followed by ... under! 🙂

              Yeah, that’s not good. Do you have a timeline for this purchase?

              🤣

              P.S. piano drift is the best kind of thread drift. 🙂

                  As a child I remember my older sister who worked for the Veterans Administration speaking about how there were soldiers at the VA hospital who had been there since WWI. It seemed incredible to me that a person could remain in a hospital for nearly 50 years.
