    Now?

    Like, NOW?

More generally, it’s sad to see this. I liked him as a representative. As a presidential wannabe, not so much.

Seems obvious the court is broken and no longer acting independently to fairly interpret laws. What's your suggested fix?

It’s not obvious the court is broken. Unless broken means ‘occasionally issues rulings I disagree with’. I think a colorable argument could be made that it’s the most functional branch we have.

Court packing to me seems like an especially bad idea at a game theoretic level. What’s to stop the other party from raising it to 18 people next time they have power? Then 25 after that?

The thread title is making fun of his saying do it ‘now’. Does he really want the current president to have 4 more scotus picks?

It's a matter or corruption. Between lying to Congress to get voted in to taking undisclosed gifts of great value, to a lack of enforced ethical standards. And it's not just Thomas and Alito, even Roberts has shading goings on and at least a few of the others. Most corrupt court. It's also a lack of respect for precedent and over use of the shadow docket. Most corrupt.

What we do about it? The most obvious answer is vote in a Democratic House and Senate, then let impeachment proceedings begin. I'm open to term limits as well.

          The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

Well, jon, I kind of beg to differ that it isn't broken, because, I can't convince myself that it's not broken when x many seats have been stolen. To calculate x, I'd have to go back to the stolen election in 2000, and work forward chronologically, remembering to include the seat illegitatamately denied Obama. Even aside from the corruption Bernard notes, its constitution is de facto illegitimate, in my opinion.

@bernard Did you see that Fetterman was the single vote to decide not to end the Iran debacle? He and his comfy clothes should be in an insane asylum, or he should be in prison for complicity in war crimes, or he should be in a military prison for treason, in my opinion.
