Had a Parkour Accident
-
I walked (very carefully and slowly) last night to the clubhouse to charge my phone charger and then back again after a couple of hours.
I tested the leg. It's painful but I can walk without limping if I concentrate.
I think I achieved stretching the leg muscles a little that could be stretched and strengthening the ones a little surrounding the injuries.
The injuries seem to be located in two places. One is deep inside the left thigh. One is on the right side of the leg below where the hip bone ends.
One of the things I can do and plan to do after I move is to get imaging of my lower back, right hip, and both knees. Then I'm going to physical therapy.

Oh dear. Glad itโs not worse.

I did the last tumbling run as a dare with a woman who was even older than me.
We were camping at an Episcopal Church camp. It was late at night. Everyone was drunk.
We both did a round-off and back handspring without incident.
I didn't tell myself it was the last time I just intuitively knew.
I had to reason with myself to stop climbing the gate.
It's not because it wasn't an easy decision.
It was more the state of mind I'm in at this stage when I have a lot of serious decisions to make and one opportunity to make them.
Best to be a realist. My father was a realist. It's the thing I liked most about him.

Yes, I'm ok. I'm walking a little every day and the pain is becoming less. I'm treating the wounds over and over so I don't get an infection. It's impossible to tell if the pain will go away completely. I have "aches and pains" from many times it didn't. I doubt I did any permanent damage. The real problem is there's something wrong with my right hip. I'm really lucky I didn't seriously injure myself. It was a close call. Thanks for asking, SK!
