I just heard about this "discretionary grant of citizenship" in Canada. All four of my grandparents are from Canada which makes me elligible. Good to know.

It sounds easier than getting a driver's license.

It’s great to have good options! I don’t…

I don't have any such option. It sounds great and so easy.

Mine is Lithuania. Gets me into the EU and a country in NATO, but a little too close to Vladimir for my taste.

My father was born in Canada to Canadian citizens, lived there about 2 weeks and then moved to the US. I applied for Canadian citizenship about 6 years ago and now have joint citizenship there. It took over a year.

I'd move to the UK if I had $$$$$.

I'm not sure what good it would do but at least I could live in a Georgian house with gardens or in Andy's Grade I listed tower house with an elevator.

I think very few folk could afford to buy & upkeep "Andy's grade 1 listed tower house with lift" or the beautiful estates mansions, rectories, that I link here.

Though I'm certain many would withdraw from the world, and pull up the drawbridge of their moated castle, as it were.
However, life is work, until age & retirement of some form beckons.
