The Israelis have deeply penetrated Iran. If they knew where a particular scientist's safe house hiding place was, do we really suppose that they don't know where the enriched material is housed?

As soon as Trump gave a two week warning I filled both cars with petrol (much good that it does🙄) thinking what choice will Iran & Israel give him... it will be sooner.

Iran will respond. Always does. Question is, what ordnance do have they remaining and how.

And if anything was removed from those sites the US will know. They'd know what time I cut the lawn yesterday and what I did with the cuttings if they wanted to😆

He's gone off the deep end. Glad the neocons including Republicans and Democrats got their way after decades of trying./ Sarcasm

Did they listen to the intelligence? No. Did they listen to the war criminal Netanyahu (again!)? Yes. Will this war be a disaster like all the previous wars going back to Vietnam? Yes.

What a sorry world we live in.

Let's risk blowing it all up and making it uninhabitable. I'm sure Elon will take us to Mars in his spaceships and if we're lucky he'll let us drive a rust bucket truck. /Sarcasm

This has been planned for decades.

Good discussion on Fareed's show this morning. Head of the IAEA group that was in Iran, Richard Haas, and James Stavridis. The IAEA guy said it's impossible to know how much damage there is until someone gets a closer look.

Will post transcript when it becomes available.

The latest conspiracy theory is Trump is be blackmailed by Epstein Island information and most of this was theater with the Iranians being forwarded. This is actually from a good source but I had to stop listening to it because I had things that needed to be done. Let's say, hypothetically speaking, this conspiracy theory happens to contain the truth. It would still mean this situation is messed up AF.

If you use nuclear power for energy you need 5% enriched uranium. Not 60% enriched which Iran admits having, or greater. Hidden deep underground and defended by the IRGuard.

The Iranian nuclear weapons program was real, and had one aim. Influence, power. The spread of their Islam, the spread of their theocracy over the whole world.

The Iranians have for over two decades been arming their proxies to this end, and IMO they could not be allowed to have nuclear weapon capabilities.
Imagine Iran giving portable nuclear bombs to its proxy fighters.

Pre-emptive self defence is fully justified.

                Congratulations USA on this mission.

Iran was a secular country before a US regime change operation.

U.S. officials say that strikes conducted on three key Iranian nuclear sites have devastated its nuclear program, but independent experts analyzing commercial satellite imagery say the nation's long-running nuclear enterprise is far from destroyed.

"At the end of the day there are some really important things that haven't been hit," says Jeffrey Lewis, a professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, who tracks Iran's nuclear facilities. "If this ends here, it's a really incomplete strike."

In particular Lewis says the strike doesn't seem to have touched Iran's stocks of highly enriched uranium.

"Today, it still has that material and we still don't know where it is," he says.

"I think you have to assume that significant amounts of this enriched uranium still exist, so this is not over by any means," agrees David Albright, the president of the Institute for Science and International Security, which has closely tracked Iran's nuclear program for years.

The independent assessments stand in stark contrast to congratulatory statements from the Trump Administration in the wake of the strikes.

I'm sure that any "peace" deal will have Iran surrender its highly enriched material and agree that for "peaceful" purposes any enriched uranium it needs will be supplied by others.

I'd expect the Israelis to actively continue to degrade Iran's nuclear weapons facilities.

As for peace, its not like you've just made a new enemy. Iran shouts Death to America and intentionally incites violence when burning your flag.
How then to believe Iranian words when spoken in Western civilised arenas such as the UN.

I don't, however we see opposition rallies and protests recorded there in Israel as in the UK and USA.

Am I cynical to ask that in Iran (where there is an unelected supreme muslim leader for life who has actively intensified pressure on dissidents with a governent campaign of repression),
if I protested on the street for gay rights or for the rights of women to dress as they wish, what are the chances I'd be assaulted or killed on the street, and/or be arrested on some trumped up spying charge and the full force of the state would be on me?

Israel bombed the headquarters of the Basij last night, and they pound the IRGC regularly. The former is composed of mostly rural thugs who patrol the streets on motor scooters wielding metal bars to bash the brains out of protesters, and they deliberately shoot women protesters in the streets. Nice folks, those Basij.
