        @rustyfingers there's no subscription for this one either. The subscription is just for added features.

                  We were gifted a bird buddy, and I must admit I love it. I'm now checking out the links you all posted for cheaper options, because I'd love to get one for our hummingbirds.

                    I'd probably buy binoculars instead but it's hard to say because I'm not bird person.

                      Birds are quite good fun really, certainly in comparison to the rest of nature; entertaining to watch flying, perched or walking, they come readily to food, come in lots of different sizes shapes & colours, and are very fragile short lived animals with a very small brain as I am reminded everytime one sadly flies into our windows.
                      And a perfect reason to invest in quality binoculars, one of our greatest inventions.
