Happy Birthday!

Thanks, friends!
Horses have been moved to a warmer valley as we have deep, compacted snowdrifts here (it took Mr Pique 3 days to clear our driveway, then he cleared the driveway of our two closest neighbors, who were also snowed in). It's been too dangerous to go anywhere--whiteout bands of snow, icy roads, subzero temperatures--but this weekend it warmed up and we went xc skiing with friends for my birthday. Skied along a high mountain pass in Temps of 14 above (balmy!) But also 25 mph winds (0F wind chill). The snow was absolutely perfect, we arrived to find the parking lot full (Montanans!) And Wags, our heeler, had a total blast running alongside us (or surfing in and out of snowbanks over his head). It was epic!
Then we all gathered downtown for dinner at a nice restaurant and had a wonderful evening gabbing about everything under the sun. A great day.
Today I have a riding lesson on my teacher's sweet Canadian horse, Ember. It's going to be too cold the rest of the week to leave the house--again, so we're taking advantage of today's warmer temperatures. Forecast starting tomorrow is minus double digits.
With the HoPos in boarding we'd like to go away the rest of the winter to a warmer climate. Haven't yet decided where.
