Why did Spanky make eggs so expensive?

But he promised!

My usual pasture-raised chicken eggs were $9.99/dozen before Inauguration Day at Kroger, but I bought 2 dozen at Costco for $8 and change. Trader Joe鈥檚 were pretty normally priced, too.
I didn鈥檛 check the price at Kroger today, because鈥 still have 2 dozen eggs from Costco! (I had also bought a dozen from a friend who has hens.)

Way cheaper in Canada.

Adding more to the chuckle fest, just for @Steve-Miller . You鈥檒l love the recommendation from the Fox News folks about what to do about coffee prices going up.

In NOLA we drank coffee with chicory in it. The story is that that they started adding chicory when coffee became too expensive for most people to buy. It wasn鈥檛 bad, in fact I rather liked it.
As an aside, where does this chucklehead think instant coffee comes from?

Eggs $7/dozen at Giant Eagle today. Organic/free range were more. They were completely out of distilled water, as were two other stores I checked.
Who the hell hoards distilled water?
-
A distilled water shortage. Who knew?
Saw similar prices on eggs, though there were some that were around $5 a dozen. So I guess my $4 a dozen organic eggs from Costco were a good deal.

Sometimes distilled water is sold out at my local market too. I have no idea why. I only use it to clean a mechanical device where tap water is not advised.
