That’s the other one I bought, lol. He did a better job for old eyes in the sheet music for The Messenger - the notes and staffs are bigger on the printout for that than they are for this one. You should try The Messenger. It’s really not harder than this one, except that the speed is in the left hand instead of the right, and you can play it much more slowly than he plays it, and it’s still beautiful. I feel like some of these modern piano composers that I like have a much bigger reach than I do, and I have to think about how to best do the fingering, as I am unable to do what they do (there are a few awkward reaches in The messenger).

Yep. I play music by Alexis Ffrench, David Lanz, and George Winston. All of these guys are quite tall, and as far as I can tell from videos, they all have massive hands.
I’ll check out the Messenger.
I need to pick my next pieces to work on after the concert is over …

Looking at the Korg website, this was new:
https://www.musicradar.com/news/korg-chopin-piano-poetry?origin=serp_autoFrom that link:
The first of Poetry’s two piano tones is based on Chopin’s 1843 Pleyel piano, which had 80 keys and was pitched at 430Hz rather than 440Hz, the modern tuning standard. This gives it a distinct tone that promises to be authentic to the one that Chopin would have experienced.
Ha! Maybe @Nina can get a digital Pleyel....

Thanks, started with some trepidation but thought, well, surely it won't be worse
Hardest was getting the original shape when sanding the filler (two lots of filler, the chewing was so deep).
And I never have exactly the right colour stain... oak, redwood, dark tudor. Usually mix them, trial and error. -

Very nice restoration work, Andy.Big Al
Indeed.
And why is it that dogs go after piano benches? Our first golden chewed off the corner of the lid on the piano bench (it wasn't an adjustable style of bench). The fellow who did the repair didn't do nearly as a good a job as @AndyD did on his bench.

Stumbled upon this recent video titled "Valentina Lisitsa Meets Grotrian".
Valentina Lisitsa visit us at PianoWorks over the weekend and during a tour of our workshop, she encountered a Grotrian Charis model 208 Studio. We recently retired this piano from concert duty and the pedals were taken apart while we re-sprayed the matte ebony finish...hence the no pedal challenge.
She plays for about 7 minutes, and then talks about her reaction to the piano.

I believe the video of Muffin and me was made at Plays88Keys' piano party. Jon was there and he's in the video. Do you recall, Jon?
She had a Steinway at the time, so you're probably right that it was a New York Steinway.

I agree. I was there with Anthony at that one, in Richmond.

And there are videos to prove it...

Really like this demo, and her comment "It doesn't feel like a toy piano".
Her technique is to be envied; yet, dare I say she often plays like she has a train to catch?

The three hinges on the sheet music ledge are loose and if the fallboard is closed it sags and sits on the keys.
Is there something out there the opposite of oil/grease/lubricant?
Something to gunk the three hinges in order to stiffen them? Maybe use a tiny dab of a glue on each? -
Those tiny flat head screws can be tricky to rescrew, so first I'll try a small bowl of teak oil partially evaporated which looks gunky. But yes I recall using linseed oil on the daughters' new cricket bats and it would be better suited. Then bending the pins.
Thanks to you both.
Piano was tuned this morning and it sounds lovely; have been playing on and off all day.
