It's been a long time since I've actually wanted a new phone. By which I mean, wanted some new tech, which is separate from my post some time ago about my phone getting old. Ironically, the latest iOS seems to have resolved some problems and my current (2021) phone is fine-ish... I want one of these though. 😅

I have questions though. Like, how would a case work?

Nice. What else would you expect.

My issue would be I'm using my phone in public constantly and with a folding phone, I have the added step of unfolding and folding, or I have train myself how to use the phone with apps when it's folded, while not trying to break the phone or loose it.

      I couldn't do it.

          @Daniel thanks for that video!

Hmm, the camera might be a deal breaker for me

Well, that and the fact that the price tag is just ridiculous and I can’t justify that kind of expense on a phone.

And also the fact that I am not actually sure I would actually like a foldable for anything other than the large screen for sheet music.

          😂

@ShiroKuro The large screen is only relatively large compared to a regular phone. Probably not big enough to read sheet music at the piano.

I have an iPhone Pro Max and I sometimes read music from it, not for learning purposes of course! But music I'm already playing. (When I go somewhere and I know I'm going to be playing, I take my iPad).

I would love to have a larger screen for those incidental times, or when I'm just wanting to look at a score for reference. Being able to do that without having to carry around a regular tablet or mini tablet would be great. I'm sure I would love it for that purpose.

              But probably not anything else!

Plus, I can't imagine having an iPhone without a case, and I can't figure out how a case is supposed to work with the foldable!

I think if you watch a lot of streaming it might be OK, but I never ever do that on a phone.

Yeah that's why I'm keeping my trusty Moto Edge 2024.

I've put what I need on it. It has an OLED not LED screen; that makes it possible for me to read the screen without difficulty assuming I have my readers on. It's also night and day to me in terms of watching videos.

                  It's paid for.

The battery retention is very good IDK why.

I want to add a landline. I'm in touch with family members now from way back.

I want to talk old school where you can't hang up on the person because your cellphone screen accidentally tapped the side of your head.

I mean think about. You can't hold a cellphone again your ear with pressure and leverage applied. You have to hold it so it doesn't touch your ear.

A second option is more important to me than a nicer phone.

However... (here I will surprise nobody)... I do have a cellphone wishlist.

                  Flagship, China, Magic OS.

I can't imagine wanting to actually buy anything like that in '06 or '07.

I'll probably buy another Edge if I have to buy something.

The new models have large OLED screens (6.5- 7.0 range, the size I want), stronger processors, larger batteries, water and dust certification, etc.

They still only cost about $500 or $600.

I really just what it because it would be so much better for looking at music.

That’s not enough of a reason, or enough “uses” for the tools it has. Ah well, it’s fun to pretend.

@shirokuro It is fun to pretend!

My Android Magic OS options are around $1,500.

I can pretend I need one or want to buy one.

It's a minor, pleasant distraction for me.
