We had some Kelly's Cornish last weekend which guests brought. Vegetarian, no additives I believe.

Everybody liked it a lot. Very creamy and satisfying

Oh boy. That ice cream looks fabulous. Clotted Cream? Coffee Latte? Rum & Raisin?

I had to stop; I was already at three scoops.....

My favorite is Publix Greenlee USDA organic vanilla.

          It's only $5.53 for a quart.

I eat it all even though it's more than one serving.

          I don't care.

If I'm being honest, it has too much air in it, but I can live with it.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way home from day rehav; Mr wtg's first trip to a grocery store since late February. We decided to celebrate...

Jeni's was on sale for $4.99 a pint. We got the Gooey Butter Cake (not bad but wouldn't buy again) and the Lemon and Blueberry Parfait (am going back to buy three more).

Also got Haagen Dazs Rum Raisin. It was OK, but a bit grainy. Ice crystals.

We have a new favorite: Van Leeuwen. Real ingredients and intense flavor. When I tried the Sicilian Pistachio, it tasted like a pistachio nut. Not artificial at all. Coffee Affogato was also excellent, along with the Caramlized Banana Honeycomb.

              Check out the ingredients...

That's certainly cause for celebration, and ice cream is ideal for that purpose.

I'm glad to read that news.

I had my favorite Publix GreenLee organic Vanilla ice cream yesterday.

The problem was I hadn't bought it for at least a month and it was sweet, as if 1/3 of it was sugar.

I like this product, but other than having a little too much air in it, it has way too much sugar.

Since I started making my own, I'm just not interested in store bought. Very difficult to find good store-bought that doesn't break the bank and isn't full of fillers, or air, or excess sweetness. On the other hand I still have a soft spot for soft-serve, a real summer treat.

Vanilla. That's what I think ice cream should be. If I want to add the flavor of chocolate: chocolate sauce. Butterscotch? Butterscotch sauce. Strawberry? Strawberries. I don't like cookie pieces or dough in my ice cream and if I did I'd sprinkle cookie chips. I guess when it comes to certain foods, I like mine basic. It's easy enough to jeuje it up at serving time.

Not that I'd ever pass up ice cream, no matter what! πŸ™‚
