          It's close but not exact:
          0 C = 32 F
          5 C = 41 F
          10 C = 50 F
          15 C = 59 F
          20 C = 68 F
          25 C = 77 F
          30 C = 86 F
          35 C = 95 F
          40 C = 104 F
          and so on.

          in general: degrees F = (9 *degrees C)/5 + 32
          One useful reference point: -40 C = -40 F

Of course. But close is what you almost always want. If you’re doing a scientific experiment you’d use C natively. We need the conversion when talking to non-Americans about the weather.

              If it’s 33 out I’m going to tell Mayla it’s 0. Not 0.56.

That's cool. I rarely translate F to C but often translate C to F with a few simple mental math steps. (C * 10) - .1(C *10) + 32 (ie, ten times C, minus 10% of that, plus 32). Although approximate, it comes very close.

Props to both Big Al and you. You guys have impressive mathematical skills.

I limit myself to using the notation-- "F" although I am sometimes lazy and use-- "°." I almost always use this notation out of respect for people who don't use this scale.

I convert by using a conversion program after searching. I'm sure timeanddate.com has one.

Unfortunately, they only have an app for Apple not for Android at this time.
