Contractor - "thought we'd seen it all"

Why? Just why??

Just when you think you've seen everything...
I hope that was a DIY project and not some contractor's installation or handyman's work. That would make it even more frightening because you'd have to wonder what else they'd been up to.
The closest thing to this I've personally encountered was a light switch within the limits of the shower curtain in a small motel in Brazil. Truly, accidents just waiting to happen.

Remarkable.

Not funny. I fired my basement contractor before he even got started yesterday. He showed a remarkable gall and very poor time management. I don't think he is dishonest, but I think he's one of those guys who gets behind a lot and uses future project monies to fund current projects.

Yeah, that's not good!!
-
It's not, but it's really a management issue. I've seen his work and it's good but being good at a trade and being good at managing a business are two entirely different things.
Had he tried to fix things we might have gone forward under some new understandings, but he just got belligerent right off the bat. That's the kiss of death for me. Still doesn't feel good to have to do it.

Oh yeah, that's a non-starter!!
Having a contractor in my house is a relationship of trust. And ultimately, if it's a big project, there will be times when they're in they house and we're not home. So if I can't trust someone, I can't have them do work for me.

Oh my....
