Got the Novavax - protein based vaccine - after my doc recommended getting one of the Covid vaxes for me this year. I've had both of the mnra ones in the past and thought I'd try this newer one.

I knew CVS had these but was pleased to find out that Costco also had it. I went looking for it after reading that there tended to be much less side effects felt. For me, that was true! Not even a sore arm...

Oof, maybe I should have tried that one instead.

I'm actually not sure what caused my side effects, because I ended up getting both flu and covid vax at the same time, but I had several days of vertigo afterwards, which was absolutely awful.

Shiro - for what it’s worth I had my flu shot last week when I was already trying to recover from a cold. No side effects other than a bit of a sore arm for a couple hours.

I haven’t had my new covid shot yet - I’ll probably go in later this week.

@dolmansaxlil I intended to get them at separate times but the technician prepped them both, and I figured, well I might as well get it over with. There's something to be said for not having to make two trips.

But the vertigo isn't worth it! Next time I'll get them separately.

I asked for the Pfizer jab, which I got. I think Kroger had both that and Moderna, but Moderna gives me the big hot arm/swollen lymph nodes. Pfizer just gives me a slightly achy arm, but not a big deal. Now I have to remember to go back for a flu shot. I like to have my jabs individually, so I know what makes me feel bad.

I hope the fact that I still look 28 years old doesn’t prevent me from being eligible.

That's the benefit of a February 29 birthday.

Some things are worth waiting for. Not saying, my witty retorts qualify - but just noting that some things are worth waiting for.

                      Good wishes, Dol!

To the room- I have a thing to say about this topic and a tangent.

                      a. mRNA (hoping sp. right) is a different technology than all of these other vaccines. So, imho, it makes sense it would have different injury rates, setting aside the various known and unknown possible side effects, and the injuries would vary in severity.

ai) So, imho, it is only natural for people insist on making a decision about this in consultation with a Dr.

aii) I might lean toward changing my own mind if these vaccinations had been shown with data from a credible source(s) they stop by transmissibily.

aiii) I would like to look at it but insofar as I know it doesn't exist.

                      b) It seems to me everyone knows this is a very controversial vaccine with a very complicated history.

(bi) Every individual is responsible for his or her health unless they can't be for some reason.

(bii) I get all the available shots I can for the diseases I want vaccines.

(biii) I wish I could pay out pocket for the ones my insurance won't cover.

biv) I wish vaccines could defeat unknown bacteria and all kinds of known and unknown diseases!
