The Dems are sweeping up tonight!

In VA we have taken all three major offices (Gov, LG, AG) and increased the House majority to at least 63-37. In other VA news, the legislature voted to put a constitutional amendment to the voters to redistrict, just like CA. We can turn VA from 6-5 Democratic to 9-2 Democratic.
Prop 50 in California passed overwhelmingly.

Some perspective:
Zohran Mamdani and Abigail Spanberger, both victorious in yesterday's US elections, offer two competing visions for the future of the Democratic party. His background is affluent and highbrow; her parents were a police officer and a nurse. His worldview is just the combination of blame-Israel-and-America-first third-worldism and modish socialism you'd expect from a child of privilege; she, while decidedly liberal, is far nearer the political center of gravity and, for instance, supported Trump's bombing of Iran.
Mamdani has never really had a career outside politics; Spanberger was an operations officer with the CIA, giving her credibility on national security, as well as a concrete sense of how the real world works. He, for all his genuine charisma, could never be elected outside a deep blue metropolis like New York City; she just won statewide office, and will succeed a Republican governor, suggesting her brand of politics has real crossover appeal. He openly embraces the "socialist" label, anathema to most American voters; she has openly called on Democrats to avoid it like the plague. And so on. In other words, Spanberger's model of political success is one that can and should be transferrable while Mamdani's victory only proves that any number of toxic views and associations can be overcome, if you have the good fortune to run against deeply compromised opposition in one of America's most left-wing cities.

A source for the above quotes would be useful.
It might be more accurate to write "a perspective." One that clearly discredits itself when writing, "...while Mamdani's victory only proves that any number of toxic views and associations can be overcome."
Abigail ran a race that worked in VA, Mamdani ran one that worked in NYC. Both ran on affordability.
Exit polls still show that Democrats do not have a favorable view of their party. So if we want unity, it's in everyone's best interest to celebrate these victories and learn from their commonality.

He is so pathetic.
President Donald Trump called for making major changes to U.S. voting systems after Democrats won big on Election Day.
Democrats won races on Tuesday for governor in Virginia and New Jersey and passed a measure in California aimed at adding more Democratic seats in the House of Representatives.
Trump responded to the Democratic victories with a Truth Social post in which he called for voter reform, including voter identification and banning mail voting, according to Newsweek.
Earlier on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the White House was exploring an executive order to ban mail voting. She specifically criticized voting in California, which she said, without evidence, encouraged โblatantโ fraud, according to PBS News.
Trump said in a separate Truth Social post that voting in California was a โgiant scamโ and was under โvery serious legal and criminal review.โ
Trump routinely criticizes election results as fraudulent when they donโt go his way. He has long been critical of mail voting in particular.
