A source for the above quotes would be useful.

It might be more accurate to write "a perspective." One that clearly discredits itself when writing, "...while Mamdani's victory only proves that any number of toxic views and associations can be overcome."

Abigail ran a race that worked in VA, Mamdani ran one that worked in NYC. Both ran on affordability.

Exit polls still show that Democrats do not have a favorable view of their party. So if we want unity, it's in everyone's best interest to celebrate these victories and learn from their commonality.

This. There isn't only one way to get to the goal.

      He is so pathetic.

President Donald Trump called for making major changes to U.S. voting systems after Democrats won big on Election Day.

Democrats won races on Tuesday for governor in Virginia and New Jersey and passed a measure in California aimed at adding more Democratic seats in the House of Representatives.

Trump responded to the Democratic victories with a Truth Social post in which he called for voter reform, including voter identification and banning mail voting, according to Newsweek.

Earlier on Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the White House was exploring an executive order to ban mail voting. She specifically criticized voting in California, which she said, without evidence, encouraged โ€œblatantโ€ fraud, according to PBS News.

Trump said in a separate Truth Social post that voting in California was a โ€œgiant scamโ€ and was under โ€œvery serious legal and criminal review.โ€

Trump routinely criticizes election results as fraudulent when they donโ€™t go his way. He has long been critical of mail voting in particular.

            I'm clearly an ignoramus.
            Who is she?
(I'll start with her not being Taylor Swift - or for that matter, any pop star.)
But begging your pardons, who is this some-kind-of-celebrity? Perhaps I could benefit from a brain chip implanted - one containing all the catch-up current events I seem to have missed.

And she's the next governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia!

Something else the successful campaigns had in common was support for transgender rights. Mamdani, Spanberger, and Sherrill all won against opponents who ran on anti-trans rhetoric. Mamdani has been vocally supportive of the trans community (even mentioning them in his acceptance speech), as have Spanberger and Sherrill. Maybe we can lay to rest the notion that trans rights are a losing subject?

                  More particulars: https://glaad.org/pro-equality-candidates-win-anti-trans-campaigns-lose-again-in-election-2025/

(So... talk about Sharia Law! (/s) Mamdani's transition leadership team is made up entirely of women.)

                  The industrial revolution cheapened everything.

The article that WTG posted has an interesting graphic that allows you to see the magnitude of the vote shift between parties from the last gubernatorial election (2021) to this one. The blue shift is uniform across the state, even in ruby red rural areas. They stayed red, but the shift is large.
