Now Jimmy Kimmel

What we are learning this year is that American corporations can not ever... ever be trusted. Never. They'll sell out Democracy in a heartbeat. We saw this summer how so many corporations, historically "supportive" of LGBTs, withdrew support for pride events. How many of them turned their backs on efforts to be inclusive. F&#^ them all.
I urge everyone to boycott Disney, ABC, and all their affiliates.
BTW, Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry's quit Unilever today because he says he was being stifled.
Big business is not your friend.

I agree, @Bernard . I donāt watch American TV and havenāt ever watched the show, although I would see snippets of Jimmy Kimmel that people would post. So this doesnāt affect me directly, but it affects all of us.
This country is no longer āthe land of the free,ā we do not have free speech here anymore.

Speaking of which (ok, weāre not really speaking of this, butā¦) I often read this guyās column in the NYT. heās a self-described conservative, and while he often makes points I disagree with, I usually appreciate reading his perspectiveā¦. But this week⦠I feel like heās really missing the point with his article, ā Why the Kirk Assassination Is a Warning to the Leftā
The link: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/16/opinion/charlie-kirk-assassination-left-violence.htmlHe wrote:
How do you love your country when itās governed by a man you hate?
Itās not about whether people āhateā Trump. Itās about what he and his are doing to this country.
What makes life worth living if the course of history isnāt what you thought?
Itās not about the course of history. Itās more like, what makes life worth living when people fear that theyāre going to lose their jobs for very unfair reasons.
If everything feels like power relations, and power has slipped from your fingers, where can you find the good, the beautiful, the true?
Itās not about power, itās about the ability to buy food at the grocery store, marry who you want, freely travel abroad, speak your mind, get a vaccine, see scientific research continue, be a legal immigrant, be confident in our food safety and weather forecastsā¦. Be proud to be an Americanā¦.
I wonāt go on, but this guy is missing the pointā¦
To me, Jimmy Kimmel is another example of everything thatās happening in this country that is wrong and truly, deeply unAmerican.

Itās almost like corporations arenāt really people.
