      I ordered a Birdfy camera. No feeder with it. I have lots of bird baths and I can position the camera near one of those. Also easy to move around. I think the field of view on the camera-only is narrower than the feeder models.

      Discount code LAGO15 gets you another 10% off; don't know if they are really having a mid-year sale or if that's marketing. I think the discount LAGO15 code increases the discount to 15% if you go over some amount.

      @rustyfingers Do you have a solar panel on your feeder, or do you just take it down and charge it as needed?

        Yes we have a solar panel. The squirrels chewed through the cord on the first one and the company replaced it for free.

          I saw the chew resistant version of the cable on their site. None of the panels was on sale so I thought I'd see how much hassle keeping the battery charged is and then buy later if necessary.

            @Steve-Miller

            My first thought was do bugs use computation until I realized you probably meant do they count toward the topic. Duh!

            Birds definitely count objects and arrange them by color.

            Birds have so much to recommend them. I don't know why I never developed any particular affinity for them.

            I believe mosquitos count as bugs and should be living in a circle of hell instead of the more usual places

            I believe the park owner has decided another way to line his pockets is to cut down or eliminate bug spray. The mowing machines used to spray pesticide and no longer do it.

            He's also saving money by not having the maintenance crews edge and trim.

            There's nothing glorious about it but I weeded the rock beds today so the place can look its best after they install the new roof on Friday.

                  We get three colourfull butterflies; the brighter red admirals and more often tortoiseshell on buddleia. The peacock is my favourite though.
