I wondered how they would react.
Good BBQ is not confined to Texas, either. There are a lot of good pitmasters at work around the country. I've tasted more than a few. I had some excellent brisket that one of my nephews smoked for two of his children's graduation party last Saturday.
I haven't spent much time in Texas, but I certainly agree that I ate some delicious BBQ there.

Superb photo montage. These never fail to make me feel very, very, small. I mean I understand 11million light years, I identify stars and gas in the photo. And then I walk 20 yards from the sitting room to kitchen for a drink and look out the back door at the moon. And it is all somehow not real. I am a centre just as the sun is, all is in motion.
And then my head explodes
It all makes some sense if you set the "MAGA" time machine to the Guilded age or Antebellum America. The monied elete are all that matters, everyone else is considered disposable. We got a hint with senator Ernst's "We are all going to die" quote. It could be the Republican answer to almost any issue.
Losing heath insurance? .
Gun control?
Workplace/public safety?
Food, drug and water safety?
Disaster relief?
...and the list goes on and on...
I don't believe believe China will invade Russia. This seems farfetched to me. I also don't believe Russia is all that distracted nor weakened by the war in Ukraine. Ukraine used to fall under Russian hegemony and I believe it is incalculably more powerful than Ukraine.
It does not look good for Tibet. There are two stupas and other buildings of the Tibetans Buddhists n the San Luis Valley of Colorado. Land of a Spanish land grant is given to religious groups that will build there. There is also a Zen Center, an ashram and some others. Tsoknyi Rinpoche has 18k followers on Facebook. Have seen him speak in videos. He is good.
Well one does wonder about giving any ODA to some countries.
In the case of the UK... to China, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Yemen, Belarus, Iran, Afghanistan.
A country affording nuclear weapons gets aid?
The first American academics fleeing Donald Trump's America for France have arrived.
Aix-Marseille University last week introduced eight U.S.-based researchers who were in the final stage of joining the institution's “Safe Place for Science" program, which aims to woo researchers who have experienced or fear funding cuts under the Trump administration. AMU offers the promise of a brighter future in the sun-drenched Mediterranean port city.
While both France and the European Union have launched multimillion-euro plans to woo researchers across the pond since Trump assumed the U.S. presidency in January, AMU's initiative was the first of its kind in the country — meaning the eight researchers who were welcomed are the first academic refugees planning to trade the United States for France.

I retired from CPS in 2013, and I haven't kept up much. The political punishment is harsh and swift for those wanting to address these sorts of issues with simmering racial overtones involved. Layer on top of that the lack of national, state and city funding over the years for updating or replacing aging buildings has led to the current situation. The addition of charter schools with performance about the same as public schools has caused its share of student losses as well.
